Doug Herzog, president of Viacom’s music and entertainment group, is leaving the company effective January 12. Herzog had served as head of a number of the company’s top cable channels, including Comedy Central and MTV. His exit comes a week after Bob Bakish was named CEO of the company, following a stint as interim head.
Forest Whitaker, who stars as Rebel freedom fighter Saw Gerrera in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, joins the cast of animated series Star Wars Rebels. Whitaker reprise his role as Gerrera, providing the voice of the character. Show bows Saturday, January 7 at 8:30p on Disney XD.

On the heels of its seventh season finale this week (and following an “equal pay” salary dispute with Emmy Rossum), Showtime ordered an eighth season of Shameless. Season 7 ranks as the highest-rated season to date for the show, starring William H. Macy and Rossum. Production on 12 new episodes will begin in 2017.
