NBA Brings Fans Closer to Finals with Facebook Live

The NBA utilized several social platforms before, during and after the Facebook Live streams of the 2014 NBA Finals, including: Tune-in, Real-time call-to-action, and posting live streaming video native to Facebook which allowed fans to watch without clicking out from their newsfeeds.

Results:

The Facebook Live streams garnered over 2.1 Million video views combined and set NBA record totals for number of fans reached on Facebook during The Finals, including over 71.7 Million on Facebook Live posts alone. The NBA saw a 130% year-over-year increase in fan actions on Facebook (and a 65% YOY increase in fan comments) on Facebook during the 2014 NBA Finals. Both marks were all-time highs for activities during the NBA Finals.
