The Senior Director of Data Science will lead a team of Data Scientists that focus on the design and execution of advanced data exploration, data mining, inference and prediction of multiple traditional and non-traditional media measurement data sets. The Senior Director, Corporate Data Sciences will work closely with internal clients, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and IT across all NBCUniversal businesses. Position Summary
The Associate Director, Ad Sales Research, Insights and Innovation will be responsible for understanding the audiences of Weather Group media properties, The Weather Channel, Local Now and Pattrn, and asserting the value to national advertisers. This all-purpose role encompasses marketplace positioning, driving custom research studies, developing audience estimates, proactively providing account research support, and moving our video channels into data-driven, innovative TV marketplaces. This position will report to the Director, Strategic Insights.
Duties and Responsibilities
Some specifics:
- Create effective sales positioning that differentiates Weather Group portfolio in the marketplace. In partnership with TWG ad sales and Strategic Insights leadership, develop a strategic plan to leverage research and insights that drive winning go to market strategies for the company.
- Provide proactive category and account-specific insights to drive strategy, influence customers and win business.
- Track and inform sales team on media competitors, key ad category trends and industry innovation on a regular basis
- Develop upfront and scatter audience estimates, as well as storm estimates, that provide the foundation for revenue achievement and supports on-going inventory optimization
- Interface with key stakeholders across TWG/Allen Media on cross platform media viewing and consumer trends
- Lead data-driven advertising innovations including advanced TV and addressability with best-in-class partners to create new premium revenue streams
- Lead company engagement with Nielsen and other measurement companies to pace with industry trends and seek ad measurement solutions that drive revenue
- Develop research plan to render case studies that show proof of effectiveness for marketing partnerships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 8-10 years’ experience in TV, Digital and Social media research and/or emerging media, in network ad sales environment
- Knowledge of media metrics & industry landscape; including television, digital, social and cross-media
- Candidate should have a proven track record of successfully project managing various measurement and analytics opportunities from ideation to final deliverable
- Proven experience in sales driven research and ability to translate complex stories into succinct storylines
- Passion for market driven insights that are reshaping the media and advertising industries

THE ROLE: Director, Vendor & Supply Chain Management
The Director will be a seasoned post production professional with a background in network television and episodic production. The Director will be responsible in maintaining and growing the inner mechanics behind the Global Acquisitions Services teams’ relationships with its suppliers, production partners and external vendors along with working closely with internal A+E partners to enhance our current workflows. The director will be acting as a technical consultant on production and post production workflows across a variety of A+E’s formats, including scripted, non-scripted, live, movies, episodic series, short-form and mid-form.
This role aids in the execution of global media strategies, is often the subject matter expert (SME) for providing post production best practices and technical recommendations and solutions, and will respond to ad hoc requests from internal partners, content creators and other media vendors. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, problem solver who has an attention to detail and can pivot quickly and is calm under pressure.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Director, Vendor & Supply Chain Management reports to the VP, Global Acquisitions Services and is responsible for building partnerships, workflows and overall tracking of supplier trends and performance. The position will be tasked with daily tracking of supplier performance and to provide critical feedback to both suppliers and the acquisitions team with the goal to create more efficient content deliveries downstream and to lower overall technical failure rate. The Director will serve as the point of contact for our suppliers across multiple functional areas and represent the Global Acquisitions team during early stages of onboarding through handoff to their assigned Acquisitions Manager.
By monitoring KPIs such as failure rate, tracking onboarding and offboarding behaviors and overseeing issue tracking response times the Director will become a strategic partner acting as a conduit for the Global Acquisitions team with our suppliers. With feedback from the team the Director will recommend workflow modifications, technical upgrade and/or identify business opportunities (I.E able to recommend online facilities based on past performances) to our suppliers. The role of the Director is to ensure that our suppliers are able to perform their work efficiently and effectively while continuing to evolve to meet A&E’s delivery requirements.
While based in Stamford, the Director position will be required to work from home as per the current company policies. During the WFH period the candidate will be tasked with building out technical workflows and technical specifications using Avid, Adobe Premiere and various other supporting software. You will be asked to remotely engage with our partners on semi-regular basis using video conference tools and conducting shared screens workshops to better understand our vendors technical workflows along with educating them on our best practices. The Director should also be knowledgeable in current WFH post production and production models that are currently in use across the industry. You must be able to pivot with the needs of the business and apply your ingenuity, industry knowledge and creativity to develop new opportunities and approaches while also taking a long view towards future technological advancements.

In this role, you must have a firm foundation of technical media operations, post-production and quality control processes. Coaching and mentorship – With your technical and management experience, your role is one of a mentor and coach with our external partners along with educating the internal teams on our partners abilities.
Solid technical foundation – In this role, the Director will serve as a trusted advisor for internal and external partners and must be a lifelong learner of new technologies, solutions and workflows. The ideal candidate will have hands – on experience in Post-Production and Technical Evaluation processes and can demonstrate basic technological understanding of topics such as, video and audio measurements, closed caption compliance protocols, CALM, color correction, audio engineering, etc. Knowledge of file formats, frame-rates, format conversations is needed along with your enthusiasm for keeping up with new technology so that you can quickly and efficiently implement new technical requirements and workflows.
Develop Partnerships – Drive collaboration, coordination and trust between multiple partners, internal and external to ensure proper delivery of file-based assets in a timely, efficient manner to be used in all of A+E’s distribution outlets.
More about you
- 7 - 10 years in a technical post production role.
- 4 - 6 years of hands-on technical experience as Post-Production Supervisor and/or an Online or Finishing Producer.
- Knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Adobe Suite, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Pro Tools, Aspera, MediaShuttle, FTP clients, MAMs, Baton, etc. A variety of codecs, frame rates along with experience working with formats such as 4k, 8k, UHD, HDR, IMF, etc.
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach, strong project management skills, extremely detail and solution oriented.
- Computer Skills: Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Airtable, SmartSheet.
- Bachelor’s degree in Television Production, Communications or equivalent.
