Description:

The Tech Manager is responsible for managing technical and logistical traffic while supporting live news shows. Fully understands the video and technical workflow throughout all locations. Fosters relationships with editorial and production staffs to provide technical guidance and help create better video workflows. Work directly with shows’ EPs and Directors to ensure broadcast feed is meeting specific technical quality standards.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate technical & logistical traffic to support live news shows and taped productions
• Support editorial & production staff on use of studio and control room technology
• Support engineering team in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the technical infrastructure and participate in the design, planning, and execution of any projects.
• Create and maintain a remote studios database
• Book remote studios, satellite trucks, and personal studios for remote productions, tapings, and live air shots
• Assign, establish, and coordinate all IFB and PL lines
• Working with show directors to set-up look of live shows
• Ensuring Newsmax technical quality standards are being met
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directs, co-develops and delivers locally produced programs and public service announcements for national and international audiences that will meet the standards of the Newsmax Media brand, and its loyal subscribers & viewers.
• Supervises a production crew that produces regular, special and live shows related to various political, historical and informational audiences or other appropriate topics, as deemed appropriate by the Newsmax Media brand.
• Works in conjunction with various Newsmax Media corporate offices, to utilize and mobilize the Newsmax Media network of web-based, print and broadcast resources, to generate timely and pertinent broadcast material to the Newsmax Media standards of dissemination.
• Develops and  maintains  mutually  beneficial  relationships  with  outside  content-creating  entities, commercial television stations, as well as municipal and cable stations, to optimize NewsMax Media’s capacity for generating quality produced programming pertinent to the Newsmax brand.

• Operates & executes complete audio mixing and creation for several live and taped broadcasts, in the context of originally produced programs and public service announcements of audiences that will meet the standards of the Newsmax brand and its loyal subscribers and viewers.
• Collaboration with both News department and a production crew that produces regular, special and live shows related to various audiences deemed appropriate by the Newsmax brand.
• Work in conjunction with various Newsmax offices to utilize and mobilize the Newsmax network of web-based, print and broadcast resources, to generate timely and pertinent broadcast material to the Newsmax standards of dissemination.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Description:

The Video Engineer & Robotic Camera Operator configures and sets up all broadcast studio cameras both manned and robotic for daily use. Works with directors to maintain network-level camera blocking and composition. Monitors and adjusts video signals including cameras, monitors, playback sources, color correction equipment and incoming feeds

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Configure and set-up broadcast studio cameras for use in daily operations
• Color correction of all set monitors
• Overall camera look and shading for all cameras, both robotic and manned
• Operate manual and/or robotic cameras for live or taped productions
• Be proficient with robotic, touch screen, equipment and act as expert for storing, modifying, recalling camera shots. Ensure proper configuration of camera robotics systems
• Work with directors to establish and maintain network level camera blocking and composition standards for studio set locations.
• Studio lighting responsibility and board programming for all studio sets
• Perform trouble shooting with video equipment for the studio for live or remote productions.
• Monitor and adjust signals, video waveform monitors, etc.
• Document quality standards, system anomalies, operational procedures, and reference materials

Position Requirements:

• Associates or Technical Degree preferred. Various forms of education and experience will be considered
• Minimum 4 years’ experience related experience in live, multi-camera studio production
• Excellent computer skills and experience with a live, multi-camera room preferred
• Familiar with ETC network-based lighting control systems
• Familiarity with Panasonic robotic cameras a plus.
• An ability to work on multiple tasks in a high pressure, 24/7 news environment
• Solutions-based, team player
• Able to lift 50lbs and set/strike studio gear.
