NorthSouth Productions is looking for a licensed entertainment attorney as In-House Counsel. This role is responsible for providing legal guidance on a broad range of unscripted production and corporate matters. This individual interfaces with a vast array of company personnel as well as outside legal departments and entertainment representatives in all phases of projects, from development to production through delivery.
The In-House Counsel Role Is Responsible For:
– Shaping corporate and production legal policies
– Negotiating and drafting development deals, shopping agreements, amendments, talent deals, above-the-line contracts, PSAs, production release templates, trade-out agreements, specialty releases and other necessary documents
– Providing instruction on handling the day-to-day production matters
– Guiding on rights and clearances
– Reviewing all content prior to air and conducting pre-broadcast review of content
– Providing company with practical legal advice on potential risks and issues
– Directing company on corporate and employment matters
– Researching various legal questions to recommend appropriate legal approaches
