This new opportunity in Vermont’s academic, medical and financial center will report directly to the General Manager while working closely with other Department Heads to consistently deliver on the station’s strategic goals for growth. We are looking for an energetic leader who will build on the success of our Integrated Marketing sales team. A successful candidate will have business acumen with a high sense of urgency. They must have strong interpersonal skills and be visible in the station and in the community. The Director of Sales is responsible for achieving all revenue goals by building a plan, communicating that plan and driving that plan.
Nestled between the snow-capped peaks of the Green Mountains and on the shores of Lake Champlain, sometimes referred to as the 6th Great Lake, Burlington offers the recreational athlete both snow and water sports opportunities, as well as a renowned farm-to-table, local brewery, and performance arts culture. Essential Duties:
- Leader of the Sales Team
- Drive new business and digital sales development
- Manage inventory, rates, political sales processes and revenue forecasting
- Develop and execute integrated marketing packages and projects to increase stations’ revenue
- Build and maintain relationships with Local & National clients and advertising agencies
- Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service
- Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly financial reporting
- Prepare revenue budgets and monitor expense budget for the department
- Make decisions regarding hiring, training, evaluation, promotion & termination of Sales employees
- Direct the Accounts Receivable efforts of the Sales Department
- Perform other duties as assigned
