WKRN -TV (ABC), located in Nashville, TN, has an immediate opening for a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sales with a proven track record of success.
This new opportunity will report directly to the General Manager while working closely with other Department Heads to consistently deliver on the station’s strategic goals for growth. We are looking for an energetic, positive, leader who will build on the success of our Broadcast and Digital sales team. A successful candidate must have excellent communication and leadership skills, business acumen with a high sense of urgency. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be visible in the station and in the community. The Director of Sales is responsible for achieving all revenue goals by building a plan, communicating that plan, and driving that plan.
Essential Duties:
- Being a Leader of the Sales Team and owning the position
- Driving new business development
- Managing inventory, rates, political sales processes and revenue forecasting
- Developing and executing sales packages and projects to increase stations’ revenue
- Building and maintaining relationships with Local & National clients and advertising agencies
- Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly financial reporting
- Preparing revenue budgets and monitoring expense budgets
- Making decisions regarding hiring, training, evaluation, promotion & termination of employees
- Performing other duties as assigned
