We know that you, our Cynopsis community, are a vibrant group of engaged professionals who work hard and are committed to evolving the media industry to be first and best at serving its audience, the consumer. However, this is not all you and your organizations are dedicated to. You’re also civic-minded citizens who want to give back to the public through your profession. Cynopsis is pleased to recognize that allegiance by opening the call for entries for the third annual Cynopsis Social Good Awards. With a panel of judges who’ll benchmark excellence in the area of social good in the TV and entertainment industry, we will be honoring everything from sustainability partnerships and PSA’s, to diversity campaigns, environmental initiatives, and more. That’s because we know it’s the moment to celebrate all these good works by brands, networks and digital entities, regardless of platform.

Who Should Enter?
The Cynopsis Social Good Awards are open to all individuals and teams worldwide — corporate, agency, association, governmental agency or nonprofit — of any size is eligible to enter. Vendors are also eligible to compete on behalf of client. The program is open to national and international entrants. Multiple entries are accepted, and a single entry can be entered into more than one category. Please follow the “How to Enter” instructions below for each additional category you will be entering.

Eligibility Period
To be eligible, the entry/campaign initiative must have taken place (either in part or in full) between November 2015 and November 2016. The program or initiative must have been initiated during this time, but it’s not necessary for it to be completed during the eligibility period. Note: although we welcome international entries/campaigns, they must have been at least partly accessible in the North American market.
All entries are held in strict confidence and we will not share information unless we receive permission from the entrant.
How to Enter
The entry process is completed solely online:
First, you will be guided through the registration process, and then the entry (synopsis + supporting materials) and payment process.

Please include a 400-word synopsis describing your entry using the following sub headings:

For People Categories:
Please include a 400-word synopsis describing the individual, using the following sub headings:
■ Specific campaigns or efforts spearheaded by this person and related outcomes
■ Leadership qualities (ability to manage internally, intra-departmentally and externally)
■ Innovative thinking
■ Sound judgment
■ Flexibility
■ Creativity
■ Financial management (where applicable)

This award recognizes an agency, network, brand, or corporation with a social good campaign baked into a TV series or special.
Diversity Campaign or Initiative
Recognizing an agency, network, brand, or corporation commitment to racial, ethnic, religious and gender diversity.
Environmental Campaign or Initiative
This category recognizes a social good strategy with an organization’s environmental efforts as its focus.
Facebook Campaign or Initiative
Recognition of the use of Facebook for a social good initiative by either a marketing firm on behalf of a client/s or by an in-house organization’s team.
Green/Sustainability Campaign or Initiative
Honoring an awareness strategy or campaign with an organization’s Green or sustainability efforts as its focus.
Hash Tag Promotion
Recognizing the impact of a single hashtag to help an initiative gain steam, this category will salute the most effective use of a hash tag around a social awareness initiative.
Human Rights Initiative/Campaign or Initiative
Saluting agency, networks or brands that have improved human rights and/or advanced social justice in the geographic areas where it conducts business.
Instagram/Vine Campaign
Honoring the use of Instagram/Vine for a social good initiative by either a marketing firm on behalf of a client or clients or by an in-house organization’s PR/marketing team.
Integrated Campaign
This category recognizes the planning and communication techniques across platforms to deliver a seamless yet powerful social message to its audience.
Integrated Campaign for a TV Series or Special Programming
This award recognizes an agency, network, brand, or corporation that has explicitly integrated or expanded its overall business model to improve the social good of its audience via TV series.
Integrated Social Campaign for a Brand
Saluting brands that have integrated their social message into video programming.
Nonprofit/Corporate Partnership
Recognition of an outstanding alliance between a corporation and non-profit organization to achieve a social good goal, with measurable results.
Partnership with a Celebrity/Athlete/Character
Honorees in this category have maximized an alliance with a Celebrity/Athlete/Character to make him/her synonymous with the event or program to spike awareness of a social issue.

Public Service Announcement
Saluting the most creative and impactful PSA run on TV or online promoting a social issue.
Snapchat Campaign
Recognizing a brand or network that has facilitated social good through content and initiatives on Snapchat.
Social Good Shining Stars
This award recognizing any media/entertainment brand, agency or TV/digital network that has explicitly integrated or expanded its overall business model to improve the social good of its audience. Entries will be judged and awards given based on type of company.
Twitter Campaign
This category salutes overall Twitter communications around a social good initiative by a media brand.
YouTube Promotion
Saluting outstanding use of YouTube to promote a social issue.
People Social Good Leaders of the Year Recognizing the social good movers in your organization, whether they are in the PR, Marketing or Programming departments or in the C-Suite. All levels may apply and will be judged relative to their title and company size. We’re looking for individuals who are leading social good strategies within their media or brand organization or for their clients. Multiple leaders will be recognized in this category.
Deadlines
All entries must be submitted online by December 8, 2016 at 11:59pm EST. Entries submitted between December 9 and December 15, 2016, will automatically incur a $175 late fee, per entry. Finalists will be notified late-January and honored in March 2017 in New York City.
Entry Fees
The price of each primary entry is $375. If you are submitting a secondary entry for the same campaign into two or more categories, the price drops to $199 for each additional entry. Please note, the content for any tagged entries at the reduced rate will need to be the same as the original entry. Payment in full must accompany the entry and is not refundable.
There is a late entry surcharge of $175 per entry beginning December 9, 2016.
Receipts: Once your entry is submitted and paid for, you will be emailed a receipt confirming the payment. The receipt includes payment date, amount and card number. You can also download a full Invoice that has all the entries paid for listed on it.
