NBCUniversal is grouping USA, Syfy, Chiller and Cloo in a new Entertainment Networks group, headed by USA president Chris McCumber, who will become president of the division. David Howe will leave his post as Syfy president to become president, strategy and commercial growth. All original scripted programming for NBCU Cable Entertainment will be centralized and run by Bill McGoldrick, EVP, scripted content. In an internal memo, NBCUniversal Cable chairman Bonnie Hammer said the restructuring allows the company “to function nimbly and without redundancy.” In 2014, the company’s Bravo, E!, Esquire and Oxygen were similarly packaged, as the Lifestyles Networks group.
Bryan Fuller, who launched his career writing for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, is returning to the TV franchise as co-creator and executive producer of the new CBS Star Trek series. Produced by CBS Television Studios, the show will launch with a special preview in early 2017. The premiere episode and all subsequent first-run episodes will then be available exclusively in the U.S. on CBS All Access, the net’s digital subscription VOD and live streaming service.
WE tv is celebrating Black History Month with a new educational section on its website and a series of 30-second public service announcements on the net and online featuring members of Congress sharing stories and perspectives on the importance of the month. The PSAs and micro-site will be available through the end of February.
The nominees for the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards have been announced by iHeartMedia and Turner. Vying for Song of the Year are "Blank Space" by Taylor Swift, "Can’t Feel My Face" by The Weeknd, “Hello” by Adele, "Shut Up and Dance" by Walk The Moon and “Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars. In addition, the first announced performances at the ceremony are Justin Bieber and Meghan Trainor. The special airs live Sunday, April 3 at 8p on TBS, TNT and truTV and will be simulcast on iHeartMedia stations nationwide, as well as on the iHeartRadio digital music platform.
Lionel Richie will be saluted at the 58th annual Grammy Awards, with Luke Bryan, John Legend, Demi Lovato and Meghan Trainor performing some of the artist’s most memorable songs. Ceremony will be broadcast live LA Monday, February 15 at 8p on CBS.
Patti LaBelle is joining The Voice as an adviser to Christina Aguilera. Season 10 of the NBC singing competition premieres Monday, February 29 at 8p.
Monopoly Millionaires’ Club will end after this season’s run, reports Broadcasting & Cable. The Scientific Games’ weekly game show’s last weekend on the air will be April 30 -May 1.
NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises has unveiled plans for its new global headquarters in Miami-Dade County. The company is set to break ground on a 450,000 sq. ft. “built to suit” facility on approximately 21 acres at NW 25th Street and the Florida Turnpike. NBCUniversal and parent company Comcast will invest more than $250 million in the construction of the headquarters, which will bring all of the division’s offices, broadcast and production operations under one roof, including Telemundo Network, Telemundo Studios, Telemundo International and cable network NBC UNIVERSO and its digital media operations.

CBS has given a pilot order to comedy I’m Not Your Friend. Matt LeBlanc will star as a contractor who learns that raising his kids is more challenging than expected when his wife goes back to work.
Starz has greenlit limited series The White Princess. Based on Philippa Gregory novel of the same name, it’s a follow-up to the net’s earlier adaptation The White Queen. Emma Frost will return as showrunner and executive producer; Gregory will also serve as exec producer. The eight-episode miniseries is in pre-production.
Michael Engler is set to direct ABC drama pilot Notorious. The project, inspired by the relationship between criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos and Larry King Live executive producer Wendy Walker, examines the interplay of criminal law and the media.
Hallmark Cards, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Crown Media Holdings, Inc. for the Hallmark Channel to become the producer and home for Hallmark Hall of Fame television series. As part of the pact, Crown Media Productions, the in-house production unit of Crown Media, will develop and produce future Hallmark Hall of Fame movies. Hallmark Cards will continue to sponsor the series and remain involved in the creative process, including approving scripts.

Golden Globe-winning Mozart In The Jungle has been renewed for a third season at Amazon. Season 3 begins production this summer. Season 2 of Amazon‘s Bosch debuts Friday, March 11.

Jeremy Sisko (Wicked City) has joined The Jury. The ABC drama pilot follows a murder trial through the eyes of its jurors.
Nico Evers-Swindell (Grimm) landed the lead in NBC’s untitled royal family comedy pilot. The project is being written by Charlie Grandy and executive produced and directed by Amy Poehler.
Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) boards AMC’s upcoming drama Preacher, for a six-episode arc as comic-book character Odin Quincannon. The series is an adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon‘s comic series.
Anthony Anderson, Molly Ringwald, Ellen Pompeo, Gabourey Sidibe and Vanessa Williams lend their voices to Disney Junior‘s animated series Doc McStuffins. Season 4 debuts this summer.
Electus International has sold format rights to The Raft to RTL, which will broadcast the series in the Netherlands. Zodiak will produce the six episode series to premiere on RTL 5 on March 17. The Raft debuted in the United States on National Geographic Channel last summer.

Hallmark Channel’s annual gridiron tradition, Kitten Bowl, scratched out a victory on Super Bowl Sunday. The special reached 4.4 million unduplicated viewers.
Meanwhile, Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XII dominated as the #1 non-sports telecast on all of cable among A25-54 and Women 18-49 on Sunday, February 7 from 3-5p in L+SD.
Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship posted a .8 rating across A25-54 (710 million impressions) and a .6 rating among A25-34 (170 million impressions) Monday night, with both demos up 21 percent vs. year ago. Cake Wars’ Valentine’s Day-themed episode at 9p posted a .5 rating (500 million impressions) among A25-54, up 26 percent vs. year ago.
Science Channel delivered its highest rated month ever among A25-54, A18-49, A18-34 and Men 18-49 during prime time in January 2016 in L+3. The net secured double-digits gains in A25-54 vs. January 2015 (10 percent) and broke into the Top 30 among all ad-supported networks among Men 25-54 for the month (#30).
Only one first-run syndicated strip, managed to score a new season high in the session ending January 31, despite a massive East Coast blizzard causing thousands of power outages. Crime Watch Daily (1.1 live plus same day national Nielsen rating, up 10 percent from the week before), which has been the number one new strip of the season for the past 20 weeks, set a new show record despite much lower than usual PUT levels. Rookies FABLife (0.8, unchanged) and Crazy Talk (0.6, unchanged) were next in line.
Judge Judy (7.8, down 1 percent) was the top courtroom show by a wide margin and the number one strip in all syndication for the 31st time in the last 32 weeks. Year to year, the show grew 10 percent. Hot Bench (2.6, unchanged) remained at its series high for a second week.
Monday night’s episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on The CW was its most watched to date (1.087 million), up 12 percent from last week’s episode. The show also matched last week’s series high in A18-49 (0.4/1).
