UPFRONT 2010: USA NETWORK
USA Network declared its intention of continuing original series for the 2010-2011 television season, highlighting a development slate containing seven new pilot scripts. This summer, USA is also celebrating the fifth anniversary of its brand moniker "Characters Welcome."

USA's development slate includes:
•    A Legal Mind - A top Manhattan corporate lawyer on a recruitment trip hired the only person who impressed him: a smart but unmotivated college dropout. From Universal Cable Productions.

•    Robyn - A rich young woman decides to take from the rich and give to the poor. From Universal Cable Productions.

•    Gay Welch Project - Karen Burke, a suburban supermom with three kids, finds her husband has left town because he was in trouble with a mob boss. Karen gets busy and pays her husband's gambling debt and becomes the mob boss' new "fixer." Gay Welch (Summerland) is writing; from Universal Cable Productions.

•    Stick - Plot is about Chris "Stick" Blake, an NHL player who got suspended from his team because of a hockey fight documented on YouTube. After attending court-ordered anger management classes, Stick decides to help people who are bullied. From Universal Cable Productions.

•    Untitled John Michael Higgins/Insurance Adjuster Project - From Steve Carell (The Office) and John Michael Higgins (Best in Show), the plot centers on Bob Welsh, a crusading middle-class insurance investigator. Produced by Universal Cable Productions.

•    Untitled Cullen Brothers Project - Two estranged brothers, with opposite personalities, are working together on the same FBI task force. From Universal Cable Productions.

•    The Velvet Hammer - Candy Carter returns home to Houston though is not the same Texas debutante as when she left. She is now divorced with two kids and is an FBI agent. Produced by Grand Central Entertainment with CBS Television Studios.
