UPFRONT 2010: NAT GEO WILD


Soon after the network's launch in the US on March 29, 2010, Nat Geo WILD is set for its first upfront, presenting nine series in production for 2010-2011:

    * Dangerous Encounters with Brady Barr - Nat Geo reptile expert Brady Barr gets close to some of the most dangerous predators on the planet.

    * Future Zoo - Cameras follow staffers and management at the Houston Zoo.

    * My Dog Ate What? - Veterinarians and owners ponder why dogs eat the things they do.

    * Secret Worlds - Series reveals exotic and remote places on earth along with its wildlife.

    * Swamp Men - Cameras follow park director, Ed Wood of the Billie Swamp Safari and his team as they manage the 2,200-acre camp.

    * Strike Force - The team at Venom Lab are called in by authorities to help with sharks and other marine wildlife when they threaten humans.

    * The Lion Ranger - Series follows behaviorist Kevin Richardson for nearly a year as he records his unusual relationship with lions in a South African nature park.

    * Wild Encounters - Series gets man closer to animals and the natural world.

    * Wild Nights with Mireya Mayor - Mayor and her team explore after dark in search of rarely seen, nocturnal wildlife in the alleys and streets.

Nat Geo WILD also has a slew of specials on its docket including two weeklong events: Big Cat Week and the Wild Heroes event.

    * Big Cat Week: specials include State of the Lions; A Tale of Two Kitties; and The Drought.

    * Wild Heroes: specials include Best of Nat Geo WILD Talent; and Ghosts of the Bush.

    * Expedition Wild with Casey Anderson: special follows naturalist Casey Anderson as he brings viewers closer to a cadre of new creatures.
