UPFRONT 2010: COOKING CHANNEL
Cooking Channel officially launches May 31 with a line-up of programs by food people, for food people. The network will feature several new, original shows in primetime including:
* Unique Eats - Series will showcase America's most exciting and innovative restaurants highlighting what is happening in the world of extreme food today. Premieres May 31.
* Drink Up! - Hosted by Darryl Robinson (a.k.a. Dr. Mixologist) of the Hudson Hotel in NYC, this show brings Happy Hour to the Cooking Channel as Darryl shows the genesis of cocktails from long-ago stills to today's creative concoctions. Premieres May 31.
* Foodcrafters - Aida Mollenkamp discovers the food secrets involved in handmade foods from around the country. Premieres May 31.
* Foodography - Mo Rocca, from CBS Sunday Morning, highlights cultural food themes by taking a look at the past, present and future of iconic, classic and trendy foods. Opens May 31.
* Food Jammers - Episodes will feature a different culinary tool conceived and designed at the Jammer's warehouse studio. Launches May 31.
New Cooking Channel daytime shows:
* Spice Goddess - Bal Arneson shows how to use fresh ingredients including herbs and spices to make simple and delicious everyday Indian meals. Begins May 31.
* Indian Food Made Easy - Chef and food writer Anjum Anand takes the fear out of preparing Indian cuisine by showing how to shop and prepare Indian foods. Premieres May 31.
* Cook Like An Iron Chef - Iron Chef Michael Symon teaches viewers the skills and techniques needed to become an Iron Chef at home. Premieres in July.
* Caribbean Food Made Easy - Levi Roots travels throughout the UK and the Caribbean showing how easy it is to create Caribbean foods at home. Premieres in August.
* Classic Cooking Block - Features Julia Child and Galloping Gourmet. Opens June 1.
