According to CNet, Intel Media is in late negotiations with Verizon to hand over control of its anticipated web-TV service. Nielsen’s SocialGuide also rated it the top entertainment series in its new Late Night Fringe category in four of its first six episodes. A new episode airs every Monday through Thursday at midnight.

Twitter’s 140-characters got more media centric yesterday, as the Twitterverse now automatically shows photos and videos within tweets, without having to click-through a link.

“Theater owners stifle innovation at every turn,” Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said during the keynote for the ninth annual 2013 Film Independent Forum in Los Angeles. Sarandos discussed the media’s changing business model and how he thinks theater owners are destroying distribution and movies to make up for massive marketing and production budgets. Within the 40-minute address he also spoke about how Netflix may move into the big-budget movie space by releasing its own original movies in theatres and on Netflix at the same time.
