Ahead of the White House Conference on Bullying Prevention, which will be held today at the White House, President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama took to the internet yesterday with an anti bullying video message. The President and first lady were featured in a video on the Facebook StopBullying.gov ( www.facebook.com/stopbullying.gov ) site explaining that bullying is unacceptable and that each of us has a responsibility to help stop bullying and to ensure that our kids treat each other with respect. In the video the President explains, “For a long time, bullying was treated as an unavoidable part of growing up. But more and more, we’re seeing how harmful it can be for our kids, especially when it follows them from their school to their phone to their computer screen.” While some kids, parents, teachers, and coaches will be at the White House for the event, all are invited to watch the White House Conference on Bullying Prevention today beginning at 10:30a at facebook.com/stopbullying.gov
Disney Junior will feature a number of celebrities on its preschool series Special Agent Oso, each day the week of Monday-Friday, April 4-8 at 1p, on Disney Channel. The week includes Mel Brooks (Monday), Freddy Rodriguez (Tuesday), Rebecca Romijn and Doris Roberts (both on Wednesday’s episode), Jenna Elfman (Thursday), and Sarah Chalke (Friday) lending their voices to characters on new episodes of Special Agent Oso.
In Canada, Teletoon‘s 3 Hours of Awesome programming block is moving to Sunday nights (6p-9p), from Sunday, March 20. The Sunday block kicks off with the network premiere of the animated series Adventure Time at 6p and will feature other popular Teletoon series. Following its premiere on March 20, Adventure Time will take up its regular time slot of Sundays at 6:15p. Teletoon’s 3 Hours of Awesome block features a new 15-minute episode format for most of the shows in the lineup, and looks like this:

VIZ Media inks a licensing deal with Angelotti Licensing & Entertainment Business (Angelotti Licensing) to serve as the agent for the popular teen-targeted manga and anime series Bleach ( www.bleach.viz.com ) in Brazil. Angelotti Licensing will seek licensing partners for Bleach across product categories including accessories and apparel. Bleach is distributed domestically by VIZ Media.
Ludorum‘s preschool series Chuggington, Anchor Bay Entertainment and Well-Pict Berries join in a healthy eating cross-promotion tied to the release of the new Chuggington DVD, It’s Training Time, on August 2, 2011. The national promotional campaign offers consumers with the chance to get a $3 rebate check (via mail) when the purchase It’s Training Time or another Chuggington DVD title from Anchor Bay and one 1 lb strawberry clamshell package from Well-Pict. Well-Pict’s packaging and other marketing and advertising materials will feature the Chuggington promotion with on-pack graphics of the It’s Training Time DVD on 12 million strawberry packages. Additionally, the new DVD title will include a Well-Pict insert with recipes specifically designed for preschoolers and their parents to make together. The cross promotion also includes the Chuggington DVD titles, Let’s Ride the Rails and Chuggers To The Rescue.

FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) makes several executive promotions within its North American licensing group as it expands third party brand representation, kid’s programming and brand development, live events, digital content creation, and gaming initiatives.
- David Luner is upped to EVP/Consumer Products, Interactive and Mobile. Luner, who had been FME’s SVP/Consumer Products and Interactive, expands his current responsibilities to include an upcoming range of new kid’s content, licensed and original game brands, and the digital content development division. He already represents FremantleMedia North America’s (FMNA) TV brands including American Idol and The X Factor, and FME’s third party TV and non-TV brands such as Rebecca Bonbon.
- Olivier Delfosse moves up to VP/Interactive, Mobile and Digital Content. Delfosse, who had been FME’s Director/Interactive, will lead FremantleMedia’s ongoing expansion in gaming, including social media gaming, and building its recent experience in the digital content and mobile brand extensions. Delfosse will report to Luner.
- Chris Donnan has been promoted to Director/Live Events from Sr. Manager. He will be responsible for producing touring shows and budgeting across all areas of FME’s live events, such as the travel edition of The Price Is Right among other shows. Donnan will report to Andy Felsher, SVP/Entertainment, Games, and Live Events.
- Dhivyah Ramanath joins FME as Senior Manager/Consumer Products: Softlines. Ramanath is responsible for growing the apparel, accessory, and publishing businesses. Ramanath will also report to Luner. Ramanath previously worked for Brand LLC as a licensing manager.
Rubicon Group Holding appoints writer/producer John Zuur Platten as Director/Digital Media. Platten is charged with growing Rubicon’s library of entertainment properties into games, applications, web content, social media and digital distribution. Initially, he will focus on developing casual games and applications in keeping with Rubicon’s “entertainment with a positive social message.” A 20-year entertainment industry veteran, Patten has written for a wide range of video games, movies, TV, digital media and books.
