Vimeo entices publishers with new VOD platform

On the first day of the Sundance Film Festival yesterday, Vimeo announced the Vimeo On Demand Publisher Network. The platform allows partners to sell premium, ad-free content on their sites from Vimeo’s VOD catalog, within articles or from their own VOD storefront. Launch partners include The Atlantic, CBS Interactive Media Group’s TVGuide.com, TV.com and Metacritic; and TEN: The Enthusiast Network. “Integrating Vimeo On Demand onto our site provides us with an opportunity to explore new distribution and monetization models for video­a medium we’re investing in heavily as we build both content and audience,” The Atlantic Digital Vice President and General Manager Kimberly Lau said.
