State of Affairs’ connection to Blacklist helped secure its timeslot

NBC is holding Katherine Heigl CIA drama State of Affairs until November because the series has “a bit of DNA from The Blacklist,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt tells Cynopsis. “We wanted to move The Blacklist to Thursday after the Super Bowl. It will come off Monday after its fall run, so we thought we’d hold one of our 10 o’clock dramas for that time period. Joe Carnahan directed The Blacklist pilot and conceived State of Affairs, so it seemed like a natural evolution of the schedule.” Affairs launches Monday, November 17 at 10p.
