Fandango will kick off its fifth original digital series I Love Movies as part of the company’s largest promotional campaign. Starting May 6, the summer long program will feature celebrity pro-social events, VIP movie screenings, festival sponsorships, social media openings and TV ads. Airing across Fandango’s Movieclips YouTube channel, Hulu, Roku and Samsung’s Milk Video Service, I Love Movies will feature interviews with cultural influencers outside the film industry on their favorite movie memories. First guests will include NBA All-Star Dwight Howard, Reba McEntire, Tony Hawk, five-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, Larry King, rock legend Slash, Shaun Robinson and country music artist Darius Rucker… also, the Fandango app for the Apple Watch will launch this Friday, in time for the Avengers: Age of Ultron to hit theaters. The app will let moviegoers bring up the mobile barcoded ticket after purchase on an iPhone, which can then be scanned for admission, among other features.
Jeff Zucker, CNN Worldwide’s president, is taking a six-week leave from the company to deal with heart surgery. A CNN spokeswoman confirmed the information tweeted on Thursday morning by the net’s media correspondent Brian Stelter. “He assured everyone he is going to be just fine,” posted Stelter, reporting Zucker’s comments from a news meeting.
Comedy Central is getting more animated, adding King of the Hill and The Cleveland Show to its lineup. The network has acquired all 13 seasons of King of the Hill, set to bow on Monday, July 23, as well as all four seasons of ensemble comedy The Cleveland Show, launching this fall.
