Cynopsis: Kids!
11/05/12

Good morning. It’s Monday, November 5, 2012, and this is your first early morning briefing.

US-based Wind Dancer Films and Ireland-based animation studio Brown Bag Films are partnering to produce Nightglider, the first animated feature for both companies. Nightglider revolves around a squirrel who was raised in a tree and when he finds that he can fly becomes convinced that he is a super-hero. Slated for release in early 2013, the movie will be directed by Brown Bag Films co-owner/creative director Darragh O’Connell (Olivia, The Octonauts) from a script by Jeremy Shipp. Wind Dancer will secure financing for the feature via international and domestic sales and its own equity, as the company has done for its live-action feature projects. Brown Bag Films’ Gregory R. Little, who developed the project, will produce with Wind Dancer principals Matt Williams and David McFadzean, president Dete Meserve and head of production Judd Payne. Brown Bag Films will serve as the lead animation studio for the production. Nightglider was developed with support from the Irish Film Board. Wind Dancer Films is also currently in production with creator Craig Bartlett (Dinosaur Train, Hey Arnold!) on an pilot for an animated series for PBS. Brown Bag Films, which produces Doc McStuffins (Disney Junior), is also in production on the new series Peter Rabbit for Nickelodeon and BBC, and its original series Henry Hugglemonster, which will air on Disney Junior 150+ countries.
