Sr. Director, Search & Programmatic Audience Buying

Responsibilities

Job Purpose:
The Search/ Programmatic Senior Director is responsible for the planning and execution of all search and programmatic planning and buying. This role manages NBC’s overall search and programmatic buying working to develop and execute innovative paid search/programmatic media plans.  The Sr. Director is responsible for creating media plans that address larger strategic plan objectives and achieve goals set by the SVP, Media.  The Sr. Director will report to the SVP, Media and will be part of a larger in-house media team.  The Sr. Director will oversee, define, and optimize programmatic processes for managing paid campaigns across DSPs and other self-service platforms.  Communication across the broader in-house media team will be critical for the success of this role.  Expert knowledge in search engine marketing and programmatic buying is essential for this role.

Essential Responsibilities:
 

  • Key participant in strategic media planning and execution across all NBC Entertainment initiatives
  • Recommends targeted, innovative media tactics consistent with media and content strategies for larger effort
  • Possesses a deep understanding of NBC’s business and the larger entertainment landscape
  • Ensures best practices are mined and then applied
  • Ability to analyze campaign performance with regular data analysis, measuring against KPIs & report on any trends & granular insights to internal stakeholders
  • Execute campaign reporting, create dashboards, and provide campaign summaries
  • Demonstrates ability to present and sell strategies/plans to department head and senior leadership team
  • Proactively seeks out and studies information to remain current on media trends
  • Develops relationship with all NBC teams that aide in the execution of search and programmatic e.g. creative teams
  • Prioritizes, manages and ensures the timeliness and quality of media plans
  • Proactively communicates to larger media team on trends and performance
  • Prepares documents to help communicate search and programmatic status to both internal media team members and larger senior team
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues
  • Serves as a resource for managers/ analysts for advice and counsel
