The ATP got itself a new Mercedes. The tennis organization licked in a sponsorship agreement with Mercedes-Benz that makes the brand the Official Car and Platinum Sponsor of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. This year’s event will be held at The O2 in London from November 4-11. Through this agreement, Mercedes-Benz will provide a premium fleet of cars featuring the new S-Class for the Official Transportation of the tournament. Mercedes-Benz now joins brands that include Barclays, Corona, FedEx, Ricoh, Emirates, Rolex, Moet & Chandon, Lacoste, and Enel.
A Detroit resurgence propelled FOX to a 5.2/9 national household rating with 8.1 million viewers for Game 4 of the ALCS, according to Nielsen. That marks a 37% spike over last year’s coverage of Gale 4 of the NLCS. Through four games, the 2013 ALCS on FOX is outpacing last year’s series by 28% better than last year’s series with a 4.6/8 and 29% higher on viewership at 7.2 million. On the local front, Detroit led all markets with a 34.5/52 followed by Boston’s 20.2/34.
Meanwhile, TBS’ coverage of the 2013 NLCS is averaging 4.8 million total viewers through five games, up 12% over the channel’s previous NLCS series in 2011 with a 3.1 household score, up 11%.
ESPN announced that analysts George Karl and Avery Johnson will make their season debuts on Monday, Oct. 21, at 7p for the ESPN The Magazine: NBA Preview Show on ESPN2. Karl and Johnson will join host Jonathan “The Coach” Coachman with predictions and analysis of key NBA storylines in advance of the new season. ESPN’s NBA season tips off Friday, Nov. 1 with the Heat/Nets.
Deportes Telemundo drew an average of 4.64 million total viewers for Rumbo al Mundial on Tuesday to rank as the top program on Spanish-language television, according to Nielsen. In the 18-49 demo, the World Cup Qualifying match also so 2.81 million viewers.
Tennis Channel lined up nearly 40 hours of coverage for the women’s year-end championships in Istanbul, Turkey next week, pitting tennis’ top-eight singles players and best-four doubles teams of the year vying for the crown. Programming runs October 22-27 with round-robin and knockout-stage matches at the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships with live coverage followed by same-day encore singles and doubles championships Sunday, Oct. 27. Tennis Channels’ Brett Haber will call the matches beside analyst Lindsay Davenport.
Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel returns next Tuesday at 10p on HBO with its 199th edition. Features are set to include a look at Reggie Jackson and Chris Paul as well as eSports.
Condoleezza Rice will continue her recent impromptu media tour to discuss her addition to the College Football Playoff selection committee with a Q&A on the FOX College Saturday pregame show. There, she will chat with Pam Oliver to discuss her new position and address some criticism with her selection. The series will also see Keith Jackson join the program with weekend. The series air on Saturday at 10a on FOX Sports 1.

Oregon is getting ready to showcase some pink Ducks. Nike said that the football team will wear pink cleats, socks, gloves and helmets for its home game against Washington State this Saturday. The move is designed to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and marks the first time the school will don pink helmets. Nike will auction off 25 helmets starting on Saturday to raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
IndyCar announced that Wisconsin-based ABC Supply Co. will come back as the title sponsor of the organization’s race in Milwaukee for both 2014 and 15. Next year’s race will shift from mid-June to Aug. 16-17. ABC Supply Co. is also the primary sponsor of the No. 14 A.J. Foyt Racing car driven by Takuma Sato.
HBO Sports is adding a new social media element to its boxing telecast on Saturday, posting highlight clips from on the live event on the @HBOBoxing Twitter account. The company is working with software provider SnappyTV to introduce the feature for the junior welterweight title bout at 9:45p this weekend.
Digital college sports network Campus Insiders will be the exclusive carrier for this weekend’s battle between Fresno State and UNLV. The game takes place on Saturday at 10p.
