A Big Brother-style competition series will debut this summer on ABC titled The Glass House. The series, premiering June 18 at 10p, watches as 14 contestants live with and compete against each other in a totally wired house with a 24/7 live feed and multiple cameras throughout vying for a $250,000 grand prize. In a different twist, viewers of the show will be able to support the contestants they like through online and social media platforms and their votes will help determine which ones go home and which eliminated participants will have the chance to return to the competition. The Glass House is from Big Brother producer Kenny Rosen.
Newly launched HBO comedy series Girls and Veep each received second season renewals yesterday with both gaining 10-episode seasons for 2013. Girls, from creator Lena Dunham debuted with 872,000 total viewers and has grown to a gross of 3.8 million viewers to date. Veep, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus is from Armando Iannucci and delivered 1.4 million total viewers with its premiere episode and has since grossed to 3.7 million viewers. Veep and Girls air on Sundays at 10p and 1030p respectively through the summer.
New original real life series Barter Kings will debut on A&E Network June 12 at 9p. The series features the subculture of cashless trading by following barterers Steve and Antonio. A&E will present two back-to-back episodes and the series is produced by Brownstone Entertainment for A&E.
Bounce TV is introducing its first-ever original series titled Family Time, a 30m comedy created by Bentley Kyle Evans who is behind such comedies as The Jamie Foxx Show, Martin and Love That Girl. Family Time centers on the Stallworths, a working-class African American family who ends up with a winning lottery ticket that pivots them to middle class status overnight. Omar Gooding and Angell Conwell star as the parents to two kids played by Jayla Calhoun and Bentley Kyle Evans, Jr. Family Time will air on Monday nights and premieres on Bounce TV June 18 at 8p. The series is produced by Evans and his partner Trenten Gumbs.
The new after-show to Animal Planet's miniseries Whale Wars: Viking Shores will be available via Watchitoo (www.watchitoo.com), the interactive SaaS-based company that offers hi-def video collaboration and streaming. The after-show will be a discussion between Captain Paul Watson of the Sea Shepherd Conversation Society and Heri Joensen, a Faroese native and lead singer of the international band Tyr. The live discussion powered by Watchitoo will be available on Animal Planet's website at www.animalplanet.com and its Facebook page starting May 4 at 10p, following the second episode of Whale Wars: Viking Shores.
Tuesday nights on TLC will include two fashion-themed shows beginning May 29. What Not to Wear returns with 13 all-new episodes airing at 9p while at 10p the network premieres Big Brooklyn Style, a new series executive produced by Stacy London that follows husband and wife entrepreneurs Lisa and Jim Dolan owners of a plus-sized clothing store. Both series are produced by BBC Worldwide Productions for TLC.
This Wednesday evening, New York City's Empire State Building will be lit in "The Weather Channel blue" in honor of The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) 30th anniversary. Congrats TWCC on your anniversary!
UPFRONT 2012: E!
At its upfront presentation last night in New York, E! relayed the news the network is expanding into scripted programming with a slate of projects in development. E! also unveiled its new look, logo, "Pop of Culture" tagline and brand campaign which will debut July 9 coinciding with the series launch of Opening Act. E! introduces three new series in 2012:

ABC's upcoming new competition series Duets is replacing Lionel Richie with John Legend who will be a mentor and singing partner to the show's singing contestants along with Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke. Richie reportedly left the show due to scheduling conflicts. Duets premieres on ABC May 24 at 8p.

Friday A18-49 Analysis: Univision won by a slim lead at 1.6/5 among A18-49, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. At 8p, CBS' Undercover Boss and Univision's Una Familia con Suerte tied for #1 at 1.6/6 each and ABC's Shark Tank was third at 1.4/5. A similar scenario happened during 9p as ABC's Primetime: What Would You Do? and Univision's Abismo de Pasion shared the top spot at 1.5/5 each and NBC's Grimm was a step behind in third place at 1.4/4. Univision then surpassed the competition at 10p with La Que No Podia Amar at 1.8/5 followed by CBS' Blue Bloods at 1.5/5.

Aaron Martinez takes on the new role as Manager/Public Relations at REELZCHANNEL. Aaron has been with the network since April 2009 joining as Copywriter and then moving to a public relations role. In his new position, he will be in charge of designing press plans and booking media tours as well as playing an integral role in event publicity for REELZCHANNEL.
