As part of the deal, Palm Plus will be paired up with Zodiak's Kanakna Holland to form a new company while continuing to produce under the Palm Plus and Kanakna existing brands. Kanakna Holland produces reality programming, documentaries and original formats. Even as the company talks of 20% layoffs by the year's end, the U.K.'s ITV just announced its acquisition of stock in Germany's Imago TV Film-und Fernsehproduktion format house. The 51.2% stake, valued at $8.2 million, was purchased through ITV's Granada Germany subsidiary with an option to buy out the remaining shares for full ownership after Imago's 2011 accounts are published. The exclusive global distribution and sale rights for Imago's formats, content and series will become ITV's asset. Imago's founders and MDs, Andrea Schonhuber-Majewski and Fabian Sabo will report to Granada Germany's MD, Jan Kromschroder. In Singapore, StarHub has brought Comcast International Media's Style Network to its channel lineup this week. U.K.er Outright Distribution signed on many a dotted line in Poland with several broadcasters for 16 shows.
HIT Entertainment renewed its U.K. home entertainment licensing agreement for both new and catalog releases for Australia's The Wiggles up to 2010.
