INTERNATIONAL MARKET: Eurosport is importing its high-def channel to Switzerland following a deal with Cablecom to offer Eurosport HD on its Cablecom Collection and Cablecom Sports & More packages in English and Italian. This move marks the first time the channel will be broadcast in a German-speaking European territory. In another European move, France's CanalSat will bring in Eurosport HD to its satellite and ADSL-distributed offerings as of December 7. A new soccer channel, Gol TV, is in the plans for Spain's Mediapro as it gets set to launch the channel on Orange TV, France Telecom's IPTV platform. The network will also make its debut in the country on Asturias' Telecable Basque and Country's Euskaltel, both regional cable operators. The lineup will be a mix of recorded and live soccer match from Spain's Liga BBVA, the U.K.'s Premier League, Italy's Serie A and other European leagues and 3 Latin American tournaments. Australia's ABC TV had decided to broadcast all 4 U.S. Presidential and Vice Presidential debates live and uninterrupted on ABC1, as well as streaming online at abc.net.au/news. The 90-minute debates will be part of a series of ABC News Midday Report Specials over the next 4 weeks.
