INTERNATIONAL MARKET: Germany's ProSiebenSat.1 has decided to sell its C More pay-TV group in Scandinavia to Sweden's TV4 for a 320 million euro price tag. ProSiebenSat.1 only picked up the company in 2007 as part of its SBS Broadcasting purchase. C More's holdings include the Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish Canal Plus channels. The buy is, of course, subject to regulatory approval. Comedy Central Hungary will be the newest MTV Networks kid when it launches in October as a Hungarian-language localized channel available to 1.5+ million cable and satellite households. Ten Sports in India has signed on with the U.S.' World Wrestling Entertainment to exclusively broadcast WWE programming in the country through 2014. The deal covers over 450 hours of content such as SmackDown, RAW, PPV events and more for Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Over in the U.K., Lionsgate U.K. will now be the exclusive U.K. home entertainment distributor for TV producer Power as part of a new long-term deal between the two. Products released in that market will be co-branded. ALL3MEDIA International sold its Lion Television sister ... actually just its sibling company's programming (got your attention on that one). The Secrets of the First Emperor DVD rights for Poland were grabbed by Studio Printel. The TV rights were previously acquired by TVP, who have now bought the 120-minute The Great Wall of China and Guarding the Queen (3x60-minutes). Still in the same country, Discovery Poland acquired the 60-minute Murder in Paradise 1943 and The Secret Life of Elizabeth. The Ukraine's Direct Sight and Specktrum Channel (Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia) took The Great Wall of China and Secrets of the Forbidden City while the latter also acquired I Want My Mummy and the new The Rough Guide (15x30-minutes and 1x60-minutes). Alfred Haber Distribution, Inc. inked a number of sales for the 2008 Annual MISS UNIVERSE Pageant airing on NBC on July 13 live from Vietnam. Recent sales include Seven Network (Australia), Turner Network (Latin America), FOX (Japan), Caracol (Colombia), NonStop (Sweden), Mediacorp (Singapore),Venevision (Venezuela), ABS-CBN (Philippines), Bangkok Broadcasting (Thailand) and Telewizja (Poland). Reykjavik's LazyTown Entertainment announced production on 26 new episodes for the LazyTown shows with a changed format to a magazine format style series titled LazyTown Extra. The 11-14-minute shows will be half-produced by LazyTown Entertainment while the other half will be localized in certain markets as part of co-production agreements with broadcasters. The word is already out about an English-language version in production with the U.K.'s CBeebies. Hong Kong's Channel [V] International inked an exclusive agreement to debut Paris Hilton's My New BFF in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Hong Kong right after the 10-episode reality series premieres on MTV in the U.S. CROSS-MARKET: More than 100 hours of Wimbledon: The Championships programming will be coming to ESPN and its various platforms courtesy of a new 6-year deal between ESPN and the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club. ESPN Deportes will have 51 hours from Wimbledon with daily coverage through the semifinals and reporting from Wimbledon ESPN Deportes' SportsCenter. ESPN International will air 70+ hours of live coverage pan-regionally in Latin America on ESPN Latin America and ESPN Latin America/Caribbean as well as daily primetime highlight shows. ESPN+ in the Southern Cone and ESPN Dos in the Northern Cone will supplement ESPN Latin America coverage with an additional 20+ hours of live tennis.For the first time, live Wimbledon coverage will be offered on ESPN's Mexican broadband service, ESPN360 Mexico. HISPANIC MARKET: Wapa America will broadcast the finals of the 7-game Puerto Rico Superior Basketball Tournament live starting today at 7p. The Intermedia Partners Spanish-language programming service for Caribbean Hispanics and Puerto Ricans will also begin broadcasting games from the new Puerto Rico Soccer League in July. The network is due to launch in New York on Time Warner Cable and in Tampa on Brighthouse Cable in the next few weeks. In other ESPN Deportes news, the network kicks off coverage of the 2010 South American World Cup Qualifying Tournament this week, airing two matches live per round, with the rest airing on delay. The games will also be broadcast on ESPN Deportes Radio.
