INTERNATIONAL MARKET: Through its Russian subsidiary TeleAlliance, Zodiak is opening up its 13th market with a new production and licensing office in Belarus overseen by Moscow's Zodiak Vostok. The first project will be a 34-episode primetime entertainment series airing this fall, ordered up and financed by the Belarussian lottery company SportPari. News Corp. is pulling up its stake in Germany's Premiere ... from a 22.7% to a 25.01% share that is. The company has been upping its share in Premiere since the beginning of the year when it purchased nearly 15% from Unitymedia. North Carolina's 3-year old The Inspiration Networks is heading to Africa via a new launch. Inspiration Network International will debut on MultiChoice Africa on satellite Eutelsat W4. The channel airs the gamut of genres, including musical series and specials, extreme sports and music for teens, content for children and more. Tinsel Cinema's TinselVision online Indian and Bollywood entertainment content service inked with India's UTV to offer its theatrical titles at www.tinselvision.com , including Swades, Chup Chup Ke and many others. The films will be available for free streaming and PPV in high-def. In response to the devastating earthquake in China last week, KyLinTV is launching a relief campaign to help the victims. CROSS-MARKET: Gospel Music Channel's (GMC) talent search series Gospel Dream 2008 will decide the fate of 16 aspiring Gospel/Christian music singers when it debuts on June 1. The 5-episode, Sunday night series will air at 9p with the finale taking place on June 29. The winner will receive a record and music video deal and a cruise. In other GMC news, the network will run a marathon of its biography series Faith and Fame over Memorial Day Weekend, starting on May 24 at 7a. HISPANIC MARKET: Univision Communications Inc. announced the launching of its VOD service in January 2009 with 1,000+ hours of sports, news, movies and entertainment from Univision, TeleFutura and Galavision. Not to worry, the offerings will include the 2010 FIFA World Cup. ESPN Deportes will provide daily coverage of the 2008 French Open, mirroring ESPN2's schedule with 51 hours starting May 25. The live coverage will usually begin each weekday at noon, running through the women's semifinals on June 5. TeleFutura will start off the Memorial Day weekend with Reventon del Verano (Summer Party Special)on May 23 at 11a, hosted by Escandalo TV's Charytin, Marisa del Portillo, Lilia Luciano and Felipe Viel. Airing live, it will feature performances, comedy sketches, celeb guests and a few surprises. On May 16, Univision pulled into the #1 spot for the 10-11p slot for the A18-34 crowd regardless of language with its grand finale of the second season of Nuestra Belleza Latina 2008 reality/beauty competition. According to Nielsen's NTI ratings, the show brought in an average of 1.46 million viewers as well as 4.3 million for Viewers 2+ and 2.53 million for A18-49.
