INTERNATIONAL MARKET: Some more details about Stupid Laws ... The pilot, commissioned by Zone Reality from Rival Media, will go into production late spring and air across Zone Reality's international feeds. A full Stupid Laws series is expected to be produced in the future with Zone Distribution handling global distribution. CABLEready inked renewal deals for several reality shows, including Medical Detectives traveling to Canal D (cable/satellite for French-speaking Canada) for 20 episodes. Dominick Dunne's Power, Privilege and Justice is returning to Biography Channel (cable/satellite for Australia) for another 7x60-minute run while Forensic Files's Season 12 (30x30-minutes) heads off to Crime & Investigation Network (cable/satellite for Australia and New Zealand). A 10-episode renewal deal has been signed with Mediacorp TV12 (free TV for Singapore) for Inside the Actors Studio in addition to an agreement with Discovery Germany via distributor Telcast (cable/satellite) for 35x30-minute episodes of A Cook's Tour. This weekend will herald the arrival of the NFL Draft on ESPN. International coverage of the event on ESPN International will include Day 1 airing in over 22 million households in 117 countries and territories on ESPN2 (Mexico, Central America and the northern cone), ESPN2 Caribbean (English-speaking Caribbean), ESPN Africa, ESPN Middle East, ESPN Israel, ESPN Pacific Rim (Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands) and on NFL cleared territories on the North American Sports Network. In the U.S., the draft will be covered on 14 ESPN platforms. BKN signed on several additional broadcasters for its Zorro: Generation Z, including Telecinco and Clan TV/TVE in Spain, POP Channel in the U.K., ATV in Hong Kong, Star TV in Greece, SABC in South Africa, Solimac in Malaysia and TV7 in Bulgaria. The 26x22-minute animated series is aimed at the K6-12 audience. HISPANIC MARKET: Azteca America's 2008-2009 programming lineup includes three new telenovelas, five reality shows and two sitcoms, all made in Mexico with product integration aspects built into the original scripts. News, which will now be shot at the Fuerza Informativa Azteca headquarters in Mexico City, is also getting a makeover with 32 news bureaus and 108 reporters. Audiences will see shows such as La Liga Azteca, Futbol Mexicano, Azte Pa Ca (Saturday night) and La Academia U.S.A. returning to the network. mun2 is launching a new multiplatform series with Geffen recording artists Prima J.
