INTERNATIONAL MARKET: Virgin Media Television's men's U.K. entertainment channel Bravo acquired the original scripted drama The Kill Point in an exclusive deal with Lionsgate. Debuting as part of Bravo's Spring primetime schedule, the 8x60 miniseries first premiered on Spike TV this past summer. Kung fu fighting chicken-style! The German TV rights to Chop Socky Chooks (26x30) have been picked up by Cartoon Network Germany from Decode Entertainment. The K7-11-targeted cartoon about three kung-fu chickens is co-produced by the DHX Media unit and the U.K.'s Aardman Animations. HBO's 7-part miniseries John Adams will debut in Canada day-and-date with HBO on March 16 at 9p ET on Astral Media's The Movie Network (eastern Canada) and 8p PT on Corus Entertainment's Movie Central (western Canada). Based on the biography by David McCullough, the show tells the tales of the U.S.' second President. HISPANIC MARKET: Univision Communications Inc. revealed its plans for coverage of today's Democratic debate with Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama. The debate is sponsored by CNN, Univision Communications Inc. and the Texas Democratic Party and presented by the Lyndon B. Johnson Foundation on behalf of the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the LBJ Library in conjunction with the University of Texas. The debate will air in Spanish at 1130p on the Univision Network, on www.Univision.com and on RadioCadena, Univision's AM radio network. AFRICAN AMERICAN MARKET: BET Networks is taking an international step with the launch of BET as a new TV channel in the U.K. It will be free-to-air on Sky Guide's digital satellite platform to over 8.8 million homes beginning on February 28. The programming that will be aired on BET in the U.K. will grow to include more regional content, but will initially include series such as 106 & Park, College Hill, Meet The Faith, and other U.S. series and specials. In addition to airing original programming across the seas, BET will expand its pro-social initiative Rap-It-Up to the U.K. Keep an eye this Friday for BET's The Bet Honors, which will air on February 22 at 8p.
