And the email is always the same - INTERNATIONAL MARKET: The U.S. Treasury has blacklisted Syria's Al-Zawraa network for allegedly encouraging insurgent violence in Iraq by airing patriotic songs that reached the Islamic Army of Iraq. The U.S. government has categorized insurgents as a terrorist group. The U.S. assets of Al-Zawraa and its founder, ex-Iraqi legislator Mishaan Jaburi, have been frozen in addition to a ban being imposed on any companies or persons who have dealings with both. The channel launched in 2005 but some officials are unsure if it still exists as the BBC's monitoring unit has not found signals since July 2007. Hoist is adding Al Jazeera Network's English- and Arabic-language channels to its package of film and TV content that is offers to European hotels following a deal between the two companies. The U.K.'s TVF International picked up the distribution rights to rep Gumball 3000 Films' future content. The deal also covers the 10 completed programming hours of the last 3 years' rallies. They were first produced to air on Channel 4 and Extreme Television, per C21. Sweden's Strix Television is spending some quality voice time for the international market after picking up the distribution rights to Finland-based Susamuru's There's a Song in Every Star musical entertainment format and Quality Time game show format. The first takes non-singer celebs and throws them into the studio for one day to come up with a hit. By winning the trivia games in Quality Time, you earn exactly that, time. Imira Entertainment (f/k/a Icon Animation) has inked a group of pre-NATPE broadcast and home video deals for Spanish-language channels and territories in the U.S. and Latin America.
