It's Monday - Columbus Day - October 8, 2007 and this is NOT your first early morning briefing. It's even briefer ... In honor of the holiday, Cynopsis is off today and our offices are closed. In the interim, here are tonight's premieres, a few quick items, the weekend box office, and the ratings: Tonight's Premieres: BET J: Conversations at 8p BBC America: Top Gear at 8p VH1: I Love New York at 9p Adult Swim: The Boondocks at 1130p Correction: The Premiere of Nigella Express on the Food Network was on Sunday morning at 930am, not at 930p that evening. ABC Family will move forward with season three of its original drama Kyle XY, produced by ABC Studios. The premiere date for the third season has not been determined as the show is now in production for the back ten episodes of season two. A 30m version of NBC’s Deal or No Deal will be launched into national syndication by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution for the fall of 2008. The game show, which is produced by Endemol USA, will be stripped Monday-Friday and will feature host Howie Mandel and all the same components found in the primetime edition. The syndicated show has been sold to NBC U stations in top markets on WNBC/New York, KNBC/Los Angeles, WMAQ/Chicago, WCAU/Philadelphia, KNTV/San Francisco among others as well as to stations with the CBS, Allbritton, Scripps and Sinclair station groups. CBS’ Survivor was #1 at 8p with a 4.4/13, while ABC’s Ugly Betty and NBC’s comedies My Name Is Earl/30 Rock tied for second at 3.4/10 each; 30 Rock debuted at 830p with a 3.4/9. At 9p, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy spiked at 7.4/18, with CBS’ CSI next at 6.3/16 and CW’s season opener of Supernatural did a 1.2/3. CBS came back at 10p as Without a Trace won at 3.8/11, while another tie occurred for second place, this time between ABC’s Big Shots and NBC’s ER at 3.7/10.
