From telenovelas to football ... MyNetworkTV will soon be the broadcast home to new and original episodes of NFL Network: Total Access, the weekly 60m show that previews the upcoming weekend's games along with segments from NFL Network's top shows. Hosted by Rich Eisen, Marshall Faulk and Rod Woodson, twenty original episodes will air on Saturdays at 9p starting September 8 through February 23 (with the exception of a handful of dates in December and January due to NFL live games).

Vin Di Bona, creator and producer of the family reality show America's Funniest Home Videos, will get his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today at 1130am. Guest speakers will include host of AFHV Tom Bergeron, President/ABC Entertainment Stephen McPherson and Emerson College President Jackie Liebergott.

Program Partners and Merv Griffin Entertainment cleared Merv Griffin's Crosswords in more than 90% of the country for the 2007-2008 season. The half-hour syndicated series hosted by Ty Treadway, which will debut September 10, is now cleared in more than 160 markets, including all 40 of the Top 40 markets and 95 out of the top 100 markets. TV One premieres season two of the original series Bill Bellamy's Who's Got Jokes? on September 8 at 10p. The comedy competition show, produced by FarCor Studios, challenges the contestants to present clean comedy routines. Each round is judged by three people selected from the audience during tapings and the final round, scheduled to air in December 2007, will be judged by viewers at home. Tommy Ford hosts the competition and Rodney Perry returns as the "Man on the Street" interviewing people and coaxing them to deliver their best jokes.

~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

Sundance Channel will move forward with a new six-episode original documentary series Architecture School (wt) from creators Michael Selditch and Stan Bertheaud, slated to debut in third quarter 2008. The series is about eight students enrolled at Tulane University's School of Architecture, assigned to design and build a house for a low-income family in New Orleans over 14 weeks. 

Remember the syndicated series American Gladiators?  Well, it's baaaaack ... kinda, says Variety.  NBC has ordered up American Gladiators from MGM-TV and Reveille, and it's still a competition series and it still has a stable of gladiators (four men and four women) who are competing in a variety of physical trials with regular folks.  The differences will be the regular folks will have some time to train before entering the ring, and there will be more back stories included. 

Joining the lineup for the upcoming season of 24 on Fox will be Colm Feore who will play the role of the President's husband - the President will be played by Cherry Jones.

John Francis Daly has signed up as a recurring character on Fox's crime series Bones.  His character is a therapist

~ EXECUTIVE MOVES ~

Go Go Luckey Productions made three executive additions: Jenny Daly is the company's new Partner, joining founding partners Gary and Julie Auerbach, and is charged with increasing the reality development project list; Henry Capanna is VP and will spearhead growth and diversification in the area of original content for brand marketers; and Joel K. Savitt is VP/Production to supervise the company's programming slate. 

Jim Romanovich named President/Associated Television International; and Justin Pierce tapped as SVP/Reality and Scripted Programming. Jim will oversee all the distribution, sales and marketing, and have a hand in key production projections.  Nicely done Jim!

Sony Pictures Television advanced Chris Parnell to VP/Development, reporting to Sharon Hall, SVP/Drama Development. Chris will work in tandem with Hall and VP, Jason Clodfelter and writers to create new drama series.

mPRm Public Relations promoted Ariel Carpenter to SVP/Digital Media and Technology, reporting to Co-Presidents Rachel McCallister and Mark Pogachefsky. The firm also recruited Donna Hardwick as VP/Television and Bill Horn as VP/Home Entertainment, with both reporting to Alan Amman who manages the General Entertainment division. Furthermore, the agency hired Susan Yin as Director/Digital Media and Technology, reporting to Ariel Carpenter.

Luke Armour joined the online social radio network BlogTalkRadio (BTR) as Public Relations Coordinator. His responsibilities include promoting content from BTR's shows both online and off.

Bennett Media Worldwide (BMW) upped Matthew Mancinelli to Manager/International Sales. His role with the company has expanded to include overseeing all international and domestic accounts in the Asian, German and U.K. markets where he will focus on revenue growth and securing licensing agreements on behalf of BMW's exclusive HD content. Matthew will also manage the company's involvement at all international markets including NATPE, LA Screenings, MIPTV and MIPCOM. He will report to Paul Rich, President.

Tuesday - A18-49 Analysis:  NBC was the overall winner Tuesday night at 3.9/11 A18-49, according to fast affiliate ratings from Nielsen Media Research. Besides winning the night, NBC actually won each hour of primetime: the two-hour season finale of America's Got Talent finished with a first place 3.7/11 at 8p and a 4.6/12 during 9p. NBC's The Singing Bee also succeeded in winning at 10p with a 3.3/9.  A ventriloquist!  Who knew?
