Good morning! It's Thursday, January 27, 2005, and this is your first early morning Multi-Cultural briefing.

HISPANIC MARKET:

Meredith Corporation is launching a new publication geared towards Hispanic women on a bi-monthly rollout schedule this fall.  With an initial rate base of 350,000, Siempre Mujer! is aiming to be a lifestyle and shelter publication.  Siempre Mujer! will be able to tap into Meredith Corp.'s resources and alliances to sell subscriptions to the Hispanic-focused publication. Susan Baron, VP and Ruth Gaviria, Publisher/Executive Director of Meredith Hispanic Ventures, were named to head up the magazine's launch and marketing efforts.  Johanna Buchholtz-Torres will oversee the editorial creation as Editor-in-Chief.

Visa launched a new Hispanic ad campaign to promote its Visa check card through Houston's Lopez Negrete ad agency.  The Spanish-language national and local television, print and radio ads will center around the movies and the hassle of paying with cash rather than using a Visa check card.  The TV ads are set to air on Telemundo, Univision, Telefutura, Galavision, TV Azteca, Fox en Espanol, ESPN Deportes, and GolTV.  Radio spots will air on Albuquerque, N.M., Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, LA, Miami, New York, Phoenix, San Antonio and San Francisco stations.  Print advertisements will start appearing in the spring in Spanish-language entertainment, lifestyle, and parenting publications.

LA will soon see a new English-language Hispanic magazine on newsstands in May.  Ciudad, LLC (Emmis Communications Corporation subsidiary) is launching the bimonthly Tu Ciudad Los Angeles (Your City) for up and coming and affluent Hispanics in the metro area.  Initially targeting 3.5 million Latinos, the magazine will center on LA culture, entertainment and lifestyle.
