Good Morning.  It's Friday, December 22, 2006, and this is your first early morning Multi-Cultural briefing. This is also your last briefing for 2006 - we're off all next week, returning on Tuesday, January 2. Have a wonderful holiday and see you next year!

AFRICAN AMERICAN MARKET:

The Star Jones Reynolds Report will premiere on TV One's Christmas week with two primetime airings. The original 60-minute special will air December 26 and 28 at 10p. Hosted and exec produced by TV personality, attorney and author Star Jones Reynolds, the show takes a year-end look inside the lives of African Americans, covering social, economic, and cultural issues.

ASIAN/INDIAN MARKET:

PBS will debut a new Asian/Pacific American TV show titled My Life Disoriented about a group of high schoolers, starting on December 26 (check local listings).  The original pilot aired as part of PBS' Independent Lens series.  For the series to get greenlit beyond the pilot will depend on the audience's response to the first episode.  My Life Disoriented's cast includes Karin Anna Cheung, Tamlyn Tomita, Dennis Dun, Autumn Reeser, and Di Quon.  The creators are actor Di Quon, writer Claire Yorita Lee, and director Eric Byler.

GAY/LESBIAN MARKET:

Showtime is teaming up with several designers to build a limited edition apparel and accessories inspired by the network's The L Word series.  The "L"ements of Style collection will be available from January 3 to February 28. The collection includes sportswear from Laura Dahl, bags by TES, jewelry from Love and Pride, jeans from Honey Labrador, denim from Blue Cult, and handbags by Cate Adair. The retailers holding the items include Atrium (NYC), Brown Eyed Girl (San Francisco and Marin), Duets (Nashville), Ultimo (Chicago), Scout and Molly's (Raleigh and Chapel Hill, NC), Mitzi & Romano (Atlanta), Lulu (Miami), and more to be added in LA and Washington, D.C.  At least 10% of sales will donated to charity while 100% of proceeds for specific limited editions pieces in the collection will be given to fight breast cancer at The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation.

INTERNATIONAL MARKET:

OlympuSAT is the exclusive distributor of the FUNimation Channel, which is now available to video service providers as a 24/7 linear channel and as syndicated programming.
