NBC is counting on its hit freshman drama, The Blacklist, to keep going strong – the net issued a full season two pickup the morning after the show’s fall finale on Monday. “The success of The Blacklist demonstrates that inspired storytelling is alive and well in broadcast television,” said NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt. Blacklist, NBC’s most-watched new drama in 19 years, returns with new episodes January 13 at 10p.

CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker is planning big changes at the cable news net he’s headed for almost a year – starting with less hard news. In his first one-on-one interview since taking over, Zucker told Capital New York, “The goal for the next six months, is that we need more shows and less newscasts,” to attract “viewers who are watching places like Discovery and History and Nat Geo and A&E.”

FX Productions signed an overall deal with Louis CK and his company Pig Newton to develop and produce new series for FX. “Working with Louis C.K. has been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable experiences of my career,” said FX Networks and FX Productions CEO John Landgraf. The comedian’s comedy Louie, launching its fourth season in May 2014, landed FX its first Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy nom this year.

Ryan Murphy, co-creator of Glee, revealed via Twitter that there could be quite a few familiar faces on the show’s upcoming 100th installment. “ALL the Glee Originals received invites today to be in our 100th episode!” Murphy tweeted on Tuesday. The milestone ep of the music series airs Tuesday, March 18 at 8p.

Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, aka 1990s MTV VJ Kennedy, will co-host a show on Fox Business Network, where she was hired last year as a correspondent on talk show Stossel. The Independents will run Monday-Wednesday and on Fridays at 9p, starting December 9. FBN has been making waves lately, recently luring Maria Bartiromo from her long-time perch at CNBC.

Sportsman Channel has been focusing on social media, and the net reports their efforts are paying off. Facebook users grew by 77 percent in 11 months, pushing Sportsman past the 500,000 “like” mark. The M18-34 demo make up 43 percent of the men’s lifestyle network’s total Facebook “likes,” versus an average of 33 percent for the social networking site.
