Online video audiences grew by just four percent this past year, yet the number of video ads increased by 205 percent, according to new ComScore report. The reason? What we hear more and more: these numbers are not indicative of real eyeballs; instead, it’s manufactured viewing, according toAdweek.Fifty-seven percent of the 2.7 billion ads over the past two months were non-viewable, according to ad firm Vindico, which claims to track 40 percent of all video ads on the web. ComScore revealed that the top site delivering video ads was a U.K. based company Blinkx.com with 217 billion views, with only 23 percent watchable. CBS took second with 195 million views and 88 percent viewability, while MSN took third with 57 percent viewability.
