Both series come from ABC Studios.

truTV ordered an additional 10 episodes of live late night series The Chris Gethard Show, which will premiere in spring 2018. The series, which launched on a public access channel in 2011, then spent 2 seasons on Fusion, made its truTV debut in August.

SEXUAL MISCONDUCT ALLEGATIONS & FALLOUT

Louis C.K. admitted on Friday that the accusations of sexual misconduct against him are true. “The hardest regret to live with is what you’ve done to hurt someone else,” said the comedian in a lengthy statement. “And I can hardly wrap my head around the scope of hurt I brought on them….I have spent my long and lucky career talking and saying anything I want. I will now step back and take a long time to listen.” FX Networks and FX Productions announced they have ended their association with Louis C.K. and his production house, Pig Newton. “He will no longer serve as executive producer or receive compensation on any of the four shows we were producing with him – Better Things, Baskets, One Mississippi and The Cops,” said the company, adding that while as far as they know, his behavior on FX projects has been professional, “Now is not the time for him to make television shows.”

Also cutting ties with Louis C.K. were Netflix, which canceled plans for a stand-up special; HBO, which dropped him from its A Night of Too Many Stars special; and TBS, which suspended production on animated series The Cops.

Andrew Kreisberg has been suspended from Warner Bros. Television over allegations of sexual harassment, as the studio conducts an internal investigation of misconduct. Kreisberg is co-creator/EP of CW’s The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow; at least 2 women have registered complaints.

In the wake of rape allegations against Ed Westwick, the BBC canceled holiday special Ordeal by Innocence. “These are serious allegations which Ed Westwick has strenuously denied,” said the network. “The BBC is not making any judgment but until these matters are resolved we will not include Ordeal by Innocence in the schedules.” As for Westwick’s appearance in the series White Gold, reported the BBC, “Ed Westwick has paused from filming while he deals with these allegations.”

So far, the response to allegations of sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry has been to sever ties with accused offenders. Do you agree that’s the right response in all cases? Let us know in the Cynopsis poll: http://cynopsis.com/poll/. (In our last poll, 70% of respondents thought House of Cards should continue without disgraced star/exec producer Kevin Spacey.)
