NBC put in development an untitled comedy series inspired by Daniel Riley’s 2016 GQ article “Inside the Church of Chili’s.” The project is from former Veep co-exec producer Sean Gray, Conde Nast Entertainment, Sony Pictures TV Studios and Olive Bridge Entertainment. Series centers on a team of “super trainers” who travel the country opening new branches of a popular restaurant chain. Gray is exec producer with Olive Bridge’s Will Gluck and Richard Schwartz and CNE’s Dawn Ostroff and Jon Koa.
CBS has put in development an untitled father-son comedy from former 30 Rock writer-producer Colleen McGuinness, 3 Arts Entertainment and CBS Television Studios. Project was written by McGuinness and centers on a married man with kids who finally reconnects with his own biological father to discover they disagree on everything.
Following up on its top-rated miniseries The New Edition Story, BET has set The Bobby Brown Story for fall 2018 with Woody McClain reprising his role as Brown. New treatment is written by Abdul Williams and exec-produced by Jesse Collins, both reprising their New Edition Story roles. It will span 30 years of Brown’s life, picking up with his exit from the ‘80s boy band through his marriage to Whitney Houston, work to prove himself as a solo artist, and eventual sobriety and remarriage.
Elizabeth Cantillon’s The Cantillon Co. partnered with Brillstein Entertainment Partners to develop a drama series based on the book I Was Told to Come Alone: My Journey Behind the Lines of Jihad, penned by Washington Post correspondent Souad Mekhennet and based on her career as a German-born Muslim journalist. Treatment will be an hourlong drama series following Mekhennet’s pursuits of Jihadi leaders around the world. Cantillon will produce with Brillstein’s Jon Liebman and Missy Malkin; Laura Quicksilver will oversee for The Cantillon Co.
IDW Entertainment, the content development, production and distribution arm of IDW Media Holdings, finalized an agreement to develop, finance and produce a new scripted series based on Mike Carey and Arvind Ethan David’s comics miniseries Darkness Visible. The announcement coincides with IDW Publishing’s trade paperback collection release this week of Darkness Visible. 
Production company Kingdom Reign Entertainment (Gucci Mane & Keyshia Ka’Oir: The Mane Event) is in an exclusive arrangement with three-time Grammy-nominated rapper DMX on upcoming docuseries In the Dog House (working title). The series will be taken to market this month and is produced by Carlos King’s Kingdom Reign, through its deal with ITV America, with DMX executive producing alongside King.
The Raney family returns to battle all that mother nature can throw at them as they come to the aid of desperate homesteaders across the nation in a dramatic new season of Homestead Rescue, debuting on Discovery Wednesday, November 15 at 9p. Premiere will be preceded by a special ep featuring never before seen footage at 8p.
Cookbook author and baking instructor Gesine Prado hosts Food Network’s new series Baked in Vermont, premiering Saturday, December 2 at 12:30p. Through six half-hour eps, she’ll share tips to make baking easy, accessible and fun.
Bravo Media serves up a double with a twist in the season 6 premiere of Vanderpump Rules, immediately followed by the series premiere of new docuseries RelationShep, on Monday, December 4 beginning at 9p. On Monday, November 27 at 10p, the net will air the half-hour special Vanderpump Rules How They Got Here, featuring memorable moments from five seasons of drama, hijinks and friendships.
HBO set January 14 as the season 2 premiere date for comedies Divorce and Crashing, at 10p and 10:30p respectively.
ABC set Sunday, March 11 at 8p as the premiere date for its revival of American Idol. Host Ryan Seacrest announced the news yesterday on Live with Kelly and Ryan.
Telemundo Deportes secured rights to broadcast the 2018 FIFA World Cup playoff game between Honduras and Australia on Friday, November 10. The match will simulcast live on Telemundo and Universo beginning at 4:30p, and  also will be available via the Telemundo Deportes En Vivo app and TelemundoDeportes.com.
Univision Deportes will deliver live broadcasts of three 2018 FIFA World Cup preparatory games featuring Mexico National Team (El Tri), Belgium, Poland and Portugal. The games will air Friday, November 10, Monday, November 13 and Tuesday, November 14.
Chris Jericho, six-time WWE world champion and lead singer of Fozzy, will unmask some of the world’s greatest mysteries on Travel Channel in The Legend of…with Chris Jericho. Premiering November 17 at 11p, the special investigates the legend of Butch Cassidy and the facts behind his most brazen heist in Castle Gate, Utah.
CBS is whipping up a cornucopia of new Thanksgiving-themed episodes to air Monday, November 20, including: Kevin Can Wait  “Cooking up a Storm; Superior Donuts “Thanks for Nothing”; 9JKL “Make Thanksgiving Great Again”; and Scorpion “It’s Raining Men (O’War).”
NBC kicks off the holidays with the lighting of the iconic tree on Christmas in Rockefeller Center, airing Wednesday, November 29 at 8p. Out: Wentworth Miller is wrapping his final eps playing Arrowverse’s Leonard Snart, aka Captain Cold in the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash. This according to Miller’s instagram post, where he said, “I’ve had a tremendous time playing this character.”
MTV will honor U2 with its Global Icon award at the 2017 MTV EMAs, airing Sunday, November 12 airing at 3p in the US. 
Count in Kelly Clarkson and Demi Lovato as performers at the 2017 American Music Awards, airing live from the Microsoft Theater in LA on Sunday, November 19, at 8p on ABC.
Larenz Tate and Erica Ash will host the 2018 Bounce Trumpet Awards. The event will be held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta on Saturday, January 20 and will premiere on Bounce on Sunday, February 11 at 9p.

British regulator Ofcom said Fox News breached impartiality rules in the UK before its closure on August 29. Ofcom says the network broke rules in January on Hannity and in May on Tucker Carlson Tonight.
FremantleMedia International announced a deal to bring a local version of FremantleMedia Australia’s long-running drama series Neighbours to Turkey, where it will be produced by No:9 Productions and air on Turkish network Fox.

During the fourth week of the new season, ABC claimed more of the week’s Top 10 gainers in L+7 playback among A18-49 than any other network, with four  programs: The Good Doctor (+2.1 rating points), Modern Family (+1.3), How to Get Away with Murder (+1.1) and Designated Survivor (+1.1).
Investigation Discovery celebrated its best October ever for delivery of total viewers (P2+) in prime and the network is on track for its best year ever, according to Nielsen data. Year to date, ID is the No. 1 ad-supported cable network for W25-54 and No. 2 network for A25-54 in total day delivery. Top series for the month included Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda (1.8 million P2+) and Shattered (nearly 1.5 million P2+).

Chris Long, programming head of AT&T Audience Network for almost two decades, is exiting the company.
