Martin Markle has been appointed Senior Director, Children’s Content and Zach Feldberg will become Executive in Charge of Production, Digital Originals at CBC.
Sonar Entertainment appointed Thomas Lesinski to serve as interim Chief Executive Officer. Lesinski, a member of Sonar’s board of directors, replaces out-going CEO Gene Stein, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
Steve Mosko has been promoted from President to Chairman of Sony Pictures Television. Mosko has been with the studio since 1992 and was named president of SPT in 2000. He oversees global television production, distribution of feature film and television content, and the studio’s international networks.
Marc Etkind has been named General Manager, Science Channel. He last served as General Manager of Destination America, where he helped develop and launch the network. Etkind replaces Rita Mullin, who left the company. Jane Latman, formerly General Manager of Discovery Life Channel, will succeed Etkind and perform double duty as Senior Vice President of Development for Investigation Discovery.

Independent feature film producer Sebastian Dungan has joined Lifetime as Vice President, Original Movies. Dungan was founding partner in the independent production company 72 Productions.
Sabrina Padwa has been named Senior Vice President, Business Affairs, ABC Family. Padwa joins the network from sister-company ABC Studios, where she has served as Vice President, Business Affairs since 2006.
Simulmedia has named three new members to its Board of Advisors: Tim Spengler, formerly President of Content Marketing and Revenue Strategy at iHeartMedia; Jack Wakshlag, who last served as Chief Research Officer for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.; and marketing strategist Marshall Cohen, who was on the management team that launched MTV, VH1, Nick at Nite and TV Land.

Stephen Arnold Music has named Dave Baumann as Marketing and Creative Director. He was formerly Director of Creative Services at WXYZ-TV (ABC) in Detroit.
National Geographic Channels has elevated Brad Dancer – one of its first 10 employees – to Executive Vice President of Programming Planning and Research. Dancer will continue to oversee the program strategy for National Geo, Nat Geo WILD and Nat Geo Mundo content across linear and nonlinear platforms, as well as the day-to-day scheduling, long-term schedule planning and acquisitions for Nat Geo and WILD.
MTV President Stephen Friedman is leaving the network after 18 years. “Having been blessed to work with you and be part of this remarkable brand for the better part of my career, I am leaving to return full time to what tempts my soul to rise,” said Friedman in a memo to staff. “My next adventure will be focused full time on giving back, on social impact, and on applying what I’ve learned from MTV about the power of brands and storytelling to create positive change.”
Jon Slusser, currently responsible for Spike’s Sports, will now oversee all of the network’s live specials and events. Slusser’s new title is Senior Vice President, Sports and Specials.
Susie Fitzgerald, most recently Senior Vice President of Scripted Development and Current Programming for AMC, has been elevated to Executive Vice President of Scripted Programming for both AMC and SundanceTV. Christian Vesper, formerly SVP of Scripted Development and Current Programming for SundanceTV, has been named SVP of International Programming, Development, Acquisitions and Co-productions for the net. Kristin Jones, who joind AMC last year as a consultant focused on international scripted projects, has officially joined the network as SVP of International Programming, Development, Acquisitions and Co-productions. And Kristi Felton has joined AMC as VP of Scripted Programming.
Marcus Wolter has been appointed Chairman, Northern Europe at Endemol Shine Germany. The position expands his role as CEO.
Turner Sports promoted Craig Barry to Executive Vice President of Production and Chief Content Officer. In an expanded role, Barry will add oversight of all Turner Sports business interests around the new eSports league.
Jennifer Sarlin joined TLC as SVP of marketing, based in the company’s Silver Spring, MD, office. Sarlin in 2007 launched the agency Benzo Creative, specializing in entertainment marketing, where she served as creative director.
Shelley Zimmerman is hanging her hat at AwesomenessTV in the newly created role of head of scripted series. Zimmerman most recently served as SVP of scripted programming for Warner Horizon.
