NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises appointed Karen Barroeta as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Creative for the Telemundo Networks. Previously, Barroeta was SVP, Marketing & Creative for NBCUniversal International Networks Spanish Latin America.
ITV America is expanding its in-house production group ITV Creative, with the promotion of Jordana Hochman, who has been upped to EVP/head of East Coast programming, and hiring of Jason Carey as EVP/head of West Coast programming. Hochman transitions to ITV Creative, having played several key roles at Leftfield Entertainment, Loud TV and Leftfield Pictures. Carey joins ITV America from Red Bull Media House where he was head of original programming, U.S. Additionally, ITV America veteran Tonko Soljan has been promoted to SVP, business affairs for ITV Creative.
Dale Hopkins has been named president/CEO of on-demand programming company iN Demand. She will relocate to the company’s NY headquarters from LA. Hopkins joins from Game Show Network, where she held multiple roles during her more than eight-year tenure, including EVP Distribution and CMO.
Warner Bros. promoted Adam Presser to SVP, International at Warner Bros Entertainment. Previously VP International, Presser will help grow Warner Bros’ businesses in China, including the production of Chinese-language and co-produced TV shows, films and web series.
20th Century Fox EVP Development Michael Thorn will take the reins from exiting Fox Broadcasting Company President of Entertainment David Madden at the end of September. “As someone who’s worked at the studio, a broadcast network and spent time as a producer, Michael’s had the best possible training for this position. We’re elated he’ll be stepping into this expanded role,” said Fox CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman. Thorn is reportedly in talks with AMC Networks to replace Joel Stillerman, who decamped in May for Hulu.
Sony Pictures Television Studios upped Karen Tatevosian to Executive Vice President Business Affairs. Tatevosian replaces Jeff Frost, promoted to President of Sony Pictures Television Studios.
Katie Nelson is joining ABC News as Executive Producer, ABC News Content, leading editorial coverage for distribution across web sites, apps, social media, streaming services and emerging platforms. Most recently, Nelson was News Director at HuffPost.
Tennessee Edwards was named Executive Producer, Business Development & Branded Content for ITV America. Edwards previously served as an executive producer under ITVA’s Loud TV banner on shows including FYI’s Tiny House Nation.
Sharon Hall stepped down as President, Endemol Shine Studios. She is transitioning into a producer role at the studio.
Carl Cameron joined Londonerry Tales as President of the company’s TV production unit. He had been Chief Political Correspondent for Fox News Channel.
Alejandro Guajardo was named Creative Services Director for KSWB FOX 5 in San Diego. He had served as interim Creative Services Director at Fox 5 since February.
