PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

Great American Country renewed its series Going RV for a new season. The fresh 14 episodes will follow potential RV buyers as they shop for their “home-sweet-motor home” to take on the open road. The new season will premiere in January 2018.

TLC is bringing back Four Weddings, and adding a twist – the new season will feature four friends or family members planning to get married in 2017. Four Weddings is currently casting brides who know each other and would like to be considered for the show.

NEW & RETURNING SERIES

Beginning Sunday, August 20 at 8p, Food Network will air five-week celebrity chef competition Guy’s Grocery Games: Superstars. Host Guy Fieri will give eight chefs – including Rocco DiSpirito, Alex Guarnaschelli and Antonia Lofaso – the chance to win $40,000 for their favorite charity.

The Windy City is home base for new six-ep WE tv unscripted series Love Blows, about a Chicago-based matchmaking service LuvBizChicago, run by a dysfunctional (but loving) family. Premiering Friday, August 25 at 10p, the show will air after Million Dollar Matchmaker, starring Patti Stanger, and is exec-produced by Stanger, who also appears in the show.

Same doctors, same procedures, new night. New eps of E! series Botched have moved to Thursdays at 9p.

KIDS NEWS

Nick Cannon will host of Nickelodeon’s Lip Sync Battle Shorties. The spinoff of sister network Spike’s series will launch with 10 episodes in early 2018; Halloween and holiday specials are set to air later this year. Joining Cannon to provide commentary on each performance is 14-year-old social media star JoJo Siwa. “I’ve been a product of Nickelodeon, as an executive and so many different facets, it was a natural fit being an artist – being a musician and still being able to tap into this world of youth entertainment I never want to leave,” Cannon tells Cynopsis. Cannon has hosted Nick’s HALO Awards and serves as chairman of TeenNick and a creative consultant.

Saturday Night Live cast member Kenan Thompson will create a new live-action sketch comedy show for kids called Skoogle for pocket.watch, the  media brand that creates, acquires, distributes and curates content for K2-11. The move sees Thompson reteaming with Albie Hecht, chief content officer of pocket.watch and former president of Nickelodeon Entertainment, for the new series.

TCA TALK

Bobby Moynihan was at TCA talking about his new CBS comedy Me, Myself & I, and his exit from Saturday Night Live. Noting “I’m an unabashed fan of SNL and would have stayed there forever and ever,” Moynihan said, “I knew my contract was ending. I went to LA and went to a meeting [and realized] I’ve got to make a decision soon” about whether to “hang out at the place I love most, or try and become an adult and move on.”

Multi-cam comedy guru/Big Bang Theory helmer Chuck Lorre told critics spinoff Young Sheldon will be a single cam show because, “It’s more intimate, the pacing is different, and the actors aren’t having to hold for laughs… I also knew we were going to be working with a cast of young children, including one in the starring role,” he added. “It is a more appropriate way for them to do their best work in a closed setting.”
