Never gets old: History was number one in BrandIndex, Buzz and Quality among all 50 cable networks measured for 2Q15 in total respondents, according to YouGov’s BrandIndex. It’s the net’s 15th consecutive quarter win for Buzz, and eleventh as the Highest Quality network. History also ranks 19th out of over 1,400 brands in overall brand health among adults 18+ in the quarter, the only television network to land in the top 20.
CBS is switching up its Wednesday summer sked. Criminal Minds reruns move from 9p to 10p, and Extant slips down to the 9p slot, following Big Brother.
Streaming company FilmOn X is an MVPD and should be treated as a cable company, with the right to negotiate licensing agreements with broadcasters, ruled a federal judge. ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC had won an injunction (kept in place) against FilmOn, which like the late Aereo streams broadcast TV to subscribers’ IP devices, but U.S. District Court Judge George W. Wu wrote that “no matter how strong the policy arguments” for treating traditional cable services and FilmOn’s service differently, the law “simply does not draw the distinction plaintiffs urge.”
Add Tyler Posey to the co-host crew for Fox’s upcoming Knock-Knock Live. The Teen Wolf actor joins Kellie Pickler, Adrienne Bailon, Ross Matthews, Chuey Martinez and Jordan “Shorty” Johnson on the surprise game show, hosted in-studio by exec producer Ryan Seacrest. Knock-knock kicks off Tuesday, July 21 at 9p.
What do you think was the biggest snub among Emmy drama series noms? Let us know in the new Cynopsis.com poll.
