Viceland ordered new seasons of F*ck, That’s Delicious and Traveling The Stars: Action Bronson and Friends Watch Ancient Aliens. Production is underway on Aliens in LA ahead of a planned July 17 premiere; the fourth season of Delicious will begin production later in the year.
The legal fight between Deirdre and Scott Gurney and ITV has ended with ITV taking the remaining 38.5% stake in Gurney Productions, for full ownership, and the Gurneys free to pursue other interests. ITV had sued the Gurneys for fraud, resulting in a countersuit alleging extortion. But now? “We wish Scott and Deirdre success with their next venture,” said an ITV spokesperson.
Screenvision Media is stepping up to help raise awareness of gender bias in Hollywood, partnering with the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. “Screenvision Media has always been an advocate for gender equality in the workplace and in society, and with our connection to Hollywood and the movie industry, the partnership seemed like an ideal extension of the work we were already doing,” says Christine Martino, EVP Ad Sales. Films will be evaluated to determine if they earn the GDIQ-Check, a metric that analyzes films based on the screen time, speaking time, diversity and whether or not there are stereotypical representations of its female characters, in accordance with our 19-point scoring system. Alone returns to History tonight, June 7. Oxygen’s A Lie to Die For premieres Sunday, June 24 at 8p. True crime series follows the stories of lies so significant, people were willing to kill rather than be found out.
BBC America’s Top Gear returns Sunday, July 14 at 8p, with new hosts Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness and returning host Chris Harris.
Canada’s Sinking Ship Entertainment signed a deal with Universal Kids for Amazon Prime’s Just Add Magic. Universal Kids has taken second window in the US for seasons 1 and 2, with the option to take seasons 3 and 4 starting February 2020.  The show’s first season will launch on Universal Kids on June 9 at 7:30 p.
Ahead of its June 15 series premiere, Ovation announced that the second season of Frankie Drake Mysteries will be coming to the arts net. Mystery series set in 1920s Toronto launches its second run on Saturday, July 27 at 7p.
In conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the Tianamen Square uprising, PBS will air Tianamen: The People Versus the Party, a day-by-day account of the seven weeks during which students and Chinese citizens protested for more freedom, on Tuesday, June 25 at 9p (check local listings).

Cleo TV and Spectrum are teaming up to take series Cleo Speaks on a five city tour, kicking off Monday, June 10 in NYC. The “Cleo Speaks: She Speaks. We Listen!” tour will highlight prominent local women of color and include moderated panel discussions, and meet and greets with celebrity guests.

Sunday’s network outage on Google, which affected Snapchat as well as Google’s own services, was the result of a configuration change gone awry. While intended for a small number of servers, “the configuration was incorrectly applied to a larger number of servers across several neighboring regions, and it caused those regions to stop using more than half of their available network capacity,” said Benjamin Treynor Sloss, VP of engineering, in a blog post. “The network traffic to/from those regions then tried to fit into the remaining network capacity, but it did not. The network became congested, and our networking systems correctly triaged the traffic overload and dropped larger, less latency-sensitive traffic in order to preserve smaller latency-sensitive traffic flows, much as urgent packages may be couriered by bicycle through even the worst traffic jam.”
YouTube said it is doubling down on eliminating hate speech, banning language “alleging that a group is superior in order to justify discrimination, segregation or exclusion based on qualities like age, gender, race, caste, religion, sexual orientation or veteran status.” The ban, announced in a blog post, will also include videos related to promoting Nazi ideology and content that denies that “well-documented violent events” like the Holocaust occurred.
Streaming offers “by far the biggest opportunity” for CBS Corp., said acting CEO Joe Ianiello at the Credit Suisse communications conference on Wednesday. While CBS has forecast 25 million streaming subscribers by 2022 for Showtime and CBS All Access in the US, that’s just the beginning. “There’s a whole lot more people in the rest of the world,” Ianiello said. 
On a related note, revenue from OTT platforms will rise over the next four years at a 10.3% compounded annual rate, to $23.7 billion in 2023, while global OTT will rise 15%, according to PwC. The biggest growth for OTT will come from subscription video-on-demand, expected to see 12.3% annual growth, to $17.8 billion in 2023, estimates PwC.
Netflix is testing a new feed in its mobile app called Extras, with trailers and photos for upcoming shows. “We are testing a feed of video extras in our mobile app to help fans connect more deeply with the titles they love and discover new ones to watch,” a spokesperson told Variety. “These tests typically vary in length of time and by region, and may not become permanent.”
Amazon is planning to make Alexa easier to talk to. At its re:Mars conference, the company said it has a new dialogue system that can predict next actions for more fluid conversations (and not so much saying “Alexa”). “We have advanced our machine learning capabilities such that Alexa can predict customer’s true goal from the direction of the dialogue, and proactively enable the conversation flow across skills,” said Amazon.
National Geographic is launching a new podcast series, Overheard at National Geographic, hosted by Nat Geo photo editor and Twitter presence Vaughn Wallace. The  the short-form, fact-based podcast will give listeners an inside look into the inner-workings of Nat Geo, while tapping into the experiences of their explorers, scientists, and reporters.
Cineflix Rights inked a first-look development deal with UK indie Finestripe Productions. The partnership gives Cineflix Rights the exclusive option to acquire international distribution rights to Finestripe’s projects for the next two years.

Nat Geo’s three-night limited series, The Hot Zone, was the net’s most-watched scripted series of all time, averaging a .82 in Live+3 ratings in the demo over three nights, just shy of besting The Story of God With Morgan Freeman as the network’s most-watched series of all time. The series premiere on May 27 lifted National Geographic to the No. 5 ad-supported cable network in the target demo for the night and No. 2 among total viewers. 
May sweep ratings for Jeopardy! (7.0 average, up 19% from last May) got a major boost from phenom contestant James Holzhauer, but finished second to syndication’s number one show of the season, Judge Judy (7.1 Live+SD. Dr Phil (2.8, down 13%) coasted to victory in the talk show race, winning May for the eighth year in a row.
WE tv’s Mama June: From Not to Hot concluded season three with the two most highly rated episodes all season and a drug intervention finale that delivered season-highs in total viewers and all key demos. With 1.4 million viewers for the finale in Nielsen Live+3 ratings, total viewers grew 35 percent from premiere over the 11-episode half-season, 41 percent among W18-49, and 37 percent among W25-54.
