Radio Disney is rebranding its Radio Disney Awards to ARDYs: A Radio Disney Music Celebration. Sofia Carson (Descendants, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists) is set to host the event, to be telecast live from LA on Sunday, June 16 at 8p on Disney Channel.
 
MTV’s Teen Mom: Young Moms Club debuts tonight, and will be the first show in the franchise to follow an existing group of friends. SVoD reaches more than 60% of households in North America, 26% in Western Europe, 21% in Asia-Pacific and 19% in LATAM, according to a report from Futuresource Consulting. Netflix and Amazon Prime Video accounted for one-third of all subscriptions globally in 2018, but when it comes to SVoD spend, the two companies commanded almost two-thirds of the market, with Netflix leading the way in terms of headlines, subscribers and revenue, adding an extra 31 million subscribers to its ranks in 2018. “Consumers are seeking a combination of functionality, high-quality original content and low price,” said David Sidebottom, Principal Analyst, “and, Netflix is choosing to invest back into original content programming and its library. Netflix has demonstrated continued growth in both its primary markets of the USA and UK, as well as France and Germany. Plus, Netflix has many options for turning profit, each requiring a local market-specific strategy, based on maturity of infrastructure, device usage, access to local content, GDP and market share.”
 
In more Netflix news, the streamer is testing a “Random Episode” button that would select a show for viewers to watch. But don’t get your hopes up that you will soon be able to let someone else decide which episode of Friends you should watch again. “We are testing the ability for members to play a random episode from different TV series on the Android mobile app,” said a Netflix spokesperson. “These tests typically vary in length of time and by region, and may not become permanent.”

Instagram is exploring the idea of hiding the amount of Likes a post gets, so users don’t have to feel self-conscious about how their counts match up to more popular posters. Only users would see a post’s Like counts. “We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get. During this test, only the person who shares a post will see the total number of likes it gets,” read a design change test spotted by TechCrunch tipster Jane Manchun Wong.
