"Collective Digital Studio (CDS) signed seven creators from YouTube, Vine and Snapchat to the multi-channel network. The talent includes FouseyTUBE, PAINT, Whatever, Rudy Mancuso, Logan Paul, ItsMattEspinosa and Shonduras, which total more than ten million new subscribers combined and add five billion views to CDS." “With pranksters, innovative musical performers and teen heart throbs joining our MCN, we will continue to attract a young, diverse demographic that is highly engaged,” CDS President Dan Weinstein said. CDS currently works with other major web names such as Rhett & Link, Epic Meal Time and Freddie Wong.

Fresh from the $94.4 million box office smash Fifty Shades of Grey, actor Jamie Dornan stars in Netflix’s latest film acquisition, Jadotville. The thriller goes into production in April, and premieres on the streaming service in 2016 and in limited theatrical release.
 
CBS Interactive online food and drink destination Chow teamed with Lexus and Plated to launch the Makers series. The new six-episode show features Lexus Culinary Masters Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo – known for their Los Angeles restaurants Animal, Son of a Gun, Trois Mec and Petit Trois – as they share cooking techniques and tips. Each Shook and Dotolo Makers recipe is available for purchase from Feb. 14 through March 21 on Plated. Makers will run through March 29 on Chow.com.
 
Dish Network and Epix extended their multiyear deal to provide movie services not only to linear TV, but also to Dish web platform Sling TV. Epix will not be included in Sling TV’s 14 networks in the $20 per month package, but will instead be available as an a la carte option for an undisclosed price. Currently, Sling TV does not offer other premium cable networks such as HBO, Showtime or Starz.
 
Digital media company The Players’ Tribune, founded by former MLB player Derek Jeter, selected AOL as its distribution and co-production launch partner. As part of the deal, AOL will distribute The Players’ Tribune content across AOL’s network of 92 million monthly unique viewers, will co-produce exclusive content on both platforms and will co-produce online sporting events throughout the year for baseball fans.
 
History is enlisting an “army” of Vikings fans to “raid” social media hashtags with its new campaign to promote the season three premiere of the series. Beginning with #ManCrushMonday yesterday, fans and influencers rallied their followers to post GIFs, memes and Vines of the Vikings’ female characters literally crushing men in battle. The show will also take over three additional hashtags on February 19, 23 and 26, revealed through hashtagraids.com. The new Vikings season starts Feb. 19 at 10 p ET.
 
Multi-platform network Videofashion launched a channel with social media network Keek (73 million users) to go behind the scenes of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week through Feb. 19 in New York City. Keek app users can view interviews with designers, makeup artists, models, fashion bloggers and influencers, as well as runway footage of the event. The app is available in more than 190 countries and in 36 languages on Android and iOS devices.

Turner SportsNBA All-Star Saturday Night was a digital slam-dunk. TNT, NBA and Turner’s NBA Facebook and Twitter handles reached 77 million fans and generated 14.5 million video views. According to Nielsen Social Guide, the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night was the top social primetime program and represented 73 percent of the total Twitter audience for the entire day. Additionally, live video streams for the event across digital screens increased 89 percent from the year prior.
 
People Now
, the daily live online show presented by Toyota on People.com, announced that Gina Torres (Revenge), Donnie Wahlberg (Blue Bloods), Molly Simms (The Everyday Supermodel), Chris Harrison (The Bachelor), Mae Whitman and Robbie Amell (The Duff), Top Chef judge Gail Simmons and others will make guest appearances this week. The 20-minute program offers interviews, entertainment updates, and human interest stories Monday-Friday at 8:30a ET and 11:30a ET online.

The “pinning” business is about to get into the buying business. According to Recode, Pinterest will unveil an e-commerce “buy button” in three to six months. The new feature will allow its 70 million monthly users to order and pay for the products they discover and pin on the site. “If Pinterest’s buy button experiment does work, it will be the only time we’ve seen a social network successfully transition into a marketplace,” Ripen eCommerce Marketing Director David Rekuc told Cynopsis. “Many social networks are probably still haunted by what happened to Digg, a huge platform that destroyed its following by trying to monetize too quickly.” Pinterest introduced “promoted pins” last spring with Kraft, Target, ABC Family and other major brands. It currently has a deal with the payments company Stripe, which also has partnerships with Facebook and Twitter.
 
FOX Sports and multi-channel network GarageMonkey launched a new social media campaign for Daytona 500 race fans. Leading up to the “Great American Race” on Feb. 22, fans and followers can contribute their own stories through photos and videos about their first race experience with the hashtag #MyFirst500. The stories will be featured on FoxSports.com and GarageMoneky.com. FOX Sports is already working with top GarageMonkey YouTube channel partners producing MyFirst500 videos focusing on current and past drivers, owners, race teams and others surrounding the Feb. 14-22 Budweiser Speedweeks, Daytona 500 Qualifying Presented by Kroger and the Daytona 500 race from Daytona International Speedway.
