Cubans are getting an introduction to one of America’s favorite pastimes. Netflix begins offering its streaming service on the island this week. Cubans with Internet service and a method for international payments can get the service for $7.99 per month.


DanceOn Network
, which counts Madonna as a co-founder, is releasing the next ep of original docu-series The Edge today at 8:30a. The segment features a behind the scenes look at the making of singer/songwriter Ne-Yo’s new video. The second season premiere, which featured Sia, marked the series’ largest viewership, with 1 million views. DanceOn was selected as part of YouTube’s $100 million original content initiative and reaches a network of more than 15 million users across social channels.
Nickelodeon new live-action TV movie Splitting Adam will be available for purchase on download-to-own platforms iTunes, Amazon, Xbox, Vudu and Google Play on Tuesday, Feb. 17, one day after it premieres on the network. Additionally, the movie can be streamed on Nick.com and the Nick App from March 1-15.
Popcornflix Kids, the free-to-stream portal for children’s programming, is beefing up its content this week. New additions include 3D series Musti and The Wompkees movies. These titles join others including Big Comfy Couch, Popeye and Betty Boop.


Although television ratings sagged a little from last year, the Grammys incited plenty of social activity. Check it out:
* On Twitter, according to Amobee Brand Intelligence, the artist most talked about in real-time was Kanye West, who generated 948,181 Tweets during the event- no doubt thanks to his interruption of Beck’s Album of the Year acceptance as for his performances. Among others, Sam Smith (754,641), Rihanna (446,013), Ed Sheeran (352,449) Beyonce (342,558) and Pharrell singing Happy (294,894) were Twitter winners. Beck generated 39,123 tweets.
* On Facebook, 17 million people had 45 million interactions related to the Grammys on Sunday night. The top social moment was Sam Smith winning Record of the Year, followed by AC/DC opening the show and Madonna’s performance.
* On Spotify, the biggest artists streams of the night came from Annie Lennox and Beck. Between 7-8p ET and 12-1a ET, Lennox had a 147 percent jump in overall streaming, with a 211 percent spike for her performance of “I Put a Spell On You.” Beck’s streaming jumped 388 percent overall, with streams of his winning album Morning Phase increasing 524 percent. ELO’s Mr. Blue Sky had a 188 percent increase.
* The top three most-Shazamed moments were: ELO and Ed Sheeran’s “Mr. Blue Sky,” Katie Perry’s “By the Grace of God” and Ed Sheeran/John Mayer’s “Thinking Out Loud.” The top clicks to buy tracks were Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” and Maroon 5/Gwen Stefani’s “My Heart Is Open.”
CBS Daytime is feeling the love both on TV and online, as talent spanning its lineup marks Valentine’s Day with Twitter “Love Chats” throughout this week. On the schedule are The Bold and the Beautiful’s Don Diamont and Heather Tom on Thursday at 1:30p ET; and The Young and the Restless’ Bryton James and Mishael Morgan on Friday at 11a ET.

Honda is onboard as the presenting sponsor of Community when it returns for its sixth season and its premiere on Yahoo Screen. The sponsorship includes several integrations this season, pre-roll video ads on new episodes and series highlights, and premium display and audience advertising across Yahoo’s network as part of a one-year program. A new partnership between FourthWall Media and 4C Insights merges 4 C’s’ social intelligence platform with FourthWall’s set-top-box data to enable advertisers to execute better-targeted media campaigns. 4C’s technology analyzes a variety of social media networks to harness a collection of behavioral and interest data for more than 1.5 billion individual consumers. “The data FourthWall is providing to 4C will allow media planners, buyers and MVPDs to calculate how ad exposures in TV link to changes in brand preference strengths,” claims Bill Feininger, president of FourthWall’s MassiveData division.

Wywy, a developer of TV syncing advertising technology and real-time TV ad tracking, is expanding its US operations with the appointments of Jeff Lunder and Carissa Parrish as Sales Managers in the company’s NY office. Lunder was an account executive with CBS Radio; Parrish joins from Everyday Health.

UK-based digital marketing agency Oban Digital is hanging a shingle in the States, with Trina Hymes serving in the newly created position of Vice President of US Sales. Hymes previously held executive posts WebSourced, ChannelAdvisor and Vocus.

Lots of exec movement at the Interactive Advertising Bureau. David J. Moore, President of WPP Digital and Chairman of Xaxis, has been named Chairman of the Board for the IAB Technology Laboratory. Additionally, Scott Cunningham is promoted to GM/SVP, Technology and Ad Operations of the IAB Tech Lab; and Michael Theodore is upped to SVP, IAB/GM, IAB Education Foundation. David Morris, Chief Revenue Officer at CBS Interactive, was elected Chairman of IAB Board of Directors; he succeeds Vivek Shah.
